What did you or are you planning on using ??? Theres so many options ! I definitely want a slow song my dad doesn't like dancing either way! lol So far i'm thinking In my arms- mark willis .... :confused3

The three I like is:
My Wish---Rascal Flatts
Get Ready, Get Set, Don't Go---Billy Ray Cyrus
I Loved Her First---Heartland

Mine is the old standard Daddy's Little Girl. All the other songs made me cry and I couldn't deal with that. :rotfl:

We did it a little differently and danced to " you've got a friend in me" from Toy Story. It was perfect since we are kinda goofy like that.

We used Butterfly Kisses for my daddy daughter dance 10+ years ago.

It had come out several months before and everyone was using it. I remember my sister calling my cell phone one day while I was driving saying she has heard the perfect song for my dance with our dad. I had recently heard it and cried every time I heard it. I still do.

:goodvibes We're using "We Go On" from Illuminations. My stepfather loooooves Illuminations in general, and is always singing that song!

We used Wing Beneth my Wings by Better Milder.... still well up when I hear it...

Whenever it is that I trick someone into marrying me I plan on using 'God Only Knows' by The Beach Boys. My dad's a big fan of their music and I love the sentiment. :)

My Bestie and MOH danced w/her Dad to "Bridge over troubled water" BUT it was the Jon Bon Jovi version (google it...amazing).....absolutely beautiful, modern and the lyrics were so appropriate. If only I still had a Dad to dance with on Wednesday:sad2: there are SO many pretty songs for that:)

Hi

I am having Jessica Simpson 'you dont have to let go'
I believe she wrote it for her father when she got married.

I love the song because its nice and slow (my dad's not a dancer) and the words are perfect.

The lyrics are:"You Don't Have To Let Go"

I don't need your strength anymore
cause you've made me strong
You may not see the woman in me
That you dreamed of
Holding me in your arms

All the days that you gave
All the moments you've saved me,
Praying for my life
Sacrificed, just to make me who I am on my own
You don't have to let go

You don't say it
But it's in your eyes
All the fears of good-bye
But I can promise
You'll always have a place, and a way to my heart

All the days that you gave
All the moments you've saved me,
Praying for my life
Sacrificed, just to make me who I am on my own
You don't have to let go

I can live
Cause you lived for me
And I can love
Because you loved me.

All the days that you gave
All the moments you've saved me,
Praying for my life
Sacrificed, just to make me who I am on my own
You don't have to let go

(Ooh ooh ooh)
You don't have to let go

My dad and I danced to Little Miss Magic by Jimmy Buffett...

Let's see...

My father/daughter dance was to "Butterfly Kisses." Problem was, my father was across the street getting a hotel room when it came time for the dance! I ended up dancing with the groomsmen until the final verse (where the daughter is getting married), when my dad comes strolling in like he's the man... :rotfl:

I've also heard "Daddy's Little Girl," "You Are The Sunshine of My Life," and "No Matter What" from Beauty and the Beast The Musical (gotta love my theater peeps!). And one of my friends (who's getting married this weekend) will be dancing with her father to the Hawaiian version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (I can't remember the guy's name, though)...

I like "A whole new world" from Alladin.

I danced to a song that talks about "My daughter is a bride". I think it's called a song for my daughter. Originally it was "A song for my son" but they made another version for girls. It completely makes me cry all over the place! But dancing to it was ok because I was distracted too much to cry. But whenever I put it on I still loose it!

I'm planning on using "Ready, Set, Don't Go" the Billy Ray & Miley version for my upcoming October wedding. I really like the words and meaning behind it. Now if I could just get through listening to it without sobbing that would be great!

Best of luck with picking your songs :)
