I was listening to the radio the other day, and this absolutely wonderful song came on, and I just knew it's the one that I want to dance to with my dad--it brought tears to my eyes! It's by Heartland, called, "I Loved Her First". Have any of you heard of it?

You can bet I'm getting their album when it comes out! Has anyone else thought of this as a good father-daughter song?

We're using it! In fact my Dad called me tonight because he went to the store to get the cd and it wasn't listed/released yet. I forwarded the single to him to download. It's a great song.

Wow - just downloaded this song...and now that my fiance and I are done crying I have to say that I think it's a wonderful song. At first it sounded a little bitter - like the dad was not psyched to give his little girl away, but the words are so beautiful and full of significant meaning, I think it's the perfect father/daughter song...see ya later butterfly kisses!

I heard this song for the first time a month ago & wrote it down so when my DD's are married (not too soon) they can dance with their dad to it. I thought it was absolutey beautiful.
