Father/daughter dance to "Cinderella"

I love that song from Steven Curtis Chapman. The dance was beautiful and will be remembered by your daughter as a special moment at her wedding.

Thank you for sharing that! That moment was such a blessing that I'm sure you will cherish. I lost my father to cancer when I was 7 and my wedding day was bittersweet without that special dance. I look forward to my own daughters wedding (hopefully not for about 20 years!) and seeing her dance with my husband!

That was so sweet, I can't believe you both made it through without sobbing :lovestruc
I grew up in Port Orchard, and your daughter looks around the same age as me, I wonder if I ever met your cinderella?
My daddy danced with me at my wedding too, but I was merciful on him and played a song that wasn't a "daddy Daughter" song, but was one that we always used to sing together when I was little "All of Me" It was very upbeat and fun and I think he appreciated it because he would have bawled all the way through a sweet song like that, you two looked amazing and I KNOW she will remember that moment her whole life!!
Good job Daddy!

<sniff sniff>

I have a two year old daughter and that makes me cry for the day she will get married.

Very awesome!

I love that song too.

Thanks you so much for sharing with us, how wondferful! I cried too during the entire thing, it reminder me so much of my Dad who died right after my wedding, he would have dome something like that had we thought of it. What a wonderful memory for you all, congrats to the bride and groom!

Wow! How amazing. Your daughter will never forget that. I doubt you and your wife will either. I can't believe you have to go through another child getting married so soon. Thanks for sharing.

Good job Daddy!

Melissa graduated from SKHS in 2004 (?) and my DW teaches at Orchard Heights Elem. We attend Harper Church if that helps. When did you leave Port Orchard.

I went to Burley Glen. - we left PO when I was about 11 I think, but your dd is about 6 years younger than me, so I doubt we met - I really like it down there though (we live up north now), we have friends that still live there and I really enjoy visiting - lots of childhood memories there! We went to PO Assembly of God church and lived right around there.
Small world :rotfl:

That was so beautiful! Thank you for sharing such a special moment with all of us. I bet there wasn't a dry eye in that room...I know I bawled my eyes out here.

I don't post much but wanted to thank you Dave for that great video. Makes me think to what I have in store for the future with my 11 year old daughter. :thumbsup2

Thank you very much for sharing this moment with us. Like others, I don't know how you got through it without breaking down. You're a strong dad!

Our church has a yearly father/daughter lunch and I was asked to sing something for the "entertainment" portion of the lunch this year. This song was picked out by my DD(6)... so I sang the song while she danced around me. She was soooo cute twirling around and around... at one point I forgot a part of the lyrics because she had me laughing! But if I were doing this for her wedding I don't know if I could get through the whole song... I'd be a babbling, broken-down crying old man.

Im crying too!

Thank you so much for sharing that. What a beautiful memory.

It made me remember my dance with my father at my wedding.

Thank you again.

That was a very special moment and thank you for sharing that. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to show my DIS wife later :) :thumbsup2

My 8 y.o. DD just asked me why I was crying...and all I could do is think of her dad and how he'd do it for her too - but he'd be sobbing the whole time! :lovestruc Absolutely sweet of you - thanks for sharing!!!
