Me and my wife are both Overweight (size 44 pants for me, size 24 for wife, and were wondering what rides we would have trouble riding. we are most interested in the children rides for our daughter (small world, toystory, ect.)
-I am also interested in rides like ToT, Space Mountain, ect.
we just dont want to wait in line only to be embarassed an hour or so later, because of our weight. any help would be great.

--wonder if Pixie Dust works for weight loss?????

Thanks

My dh and I are about the same sizes as you and your dw and we don't have a problem with any of the rides. And we ride everything!!!

My DH and I are larger too. We just came back and there was nothing that we couldnt do! However next time we might do the Barnstormer in Toon Town by ourselves in a car each it was a bit squishy.

What a great question! I was wondering that myself since I am a size 22/24. DH can ride anything! He is a size 32!!!

I am a size 18 and my hubby 44. THe only problem he had was that he is also quite tall and leg room was a little bit of a problem. he just grinned and bared it. I think it is the allears site that has a section called WDW at large that may help you.

you are "Pleasantly Plump with Love Handles." From what I can tell, all of you have someone in your life that loves your "Pleasantly Plumpness." Just more to love.    I went from a size 18 to a size 12 but I have the attitude and the swagger of a size 6.

With that said, you can ride any ride at Disney and have fun. Enjoy your trip!

Ok, this sets my mind at ease.... I was so worried about paying 2,000 (before buying souveniers and the extra's) and not being able to ride anything that I have read so much about. :cool1:

i only have one more thing to add....Disney may want to REVIEW their MYW Dining after I get done :rotfl:

Thanks Everyone who responded :+)

Just chiming in to say that hubby and I are both Pooh sized and had no trouble riding anything. We LOVED TOT and Space Mountain!!!! I'm about your wife's size and hubby is larger than you. Hubby even rode the Goofy Barnstormer with our five year old and had no problem. Go and have a blast! You'll see lots of us "Pooh" size people out there!

I am way bigger than you and haven't had any trouble with rides at WDW. I don't do rollercoasters though, so I don't know about the "big kid" rides. I have riden every ride in Fantasyland thought and fit just fine. The tea cups were a little tight, but not horrible.

One place I was embarassed though was the Sci Fi Dine In. The "car booths" are VERY tight and I didn't fit. I politely asked for a different table and was sat at the picnic tables in the back. Those were really uncomfortable on my back and I wasn't going to go back to that resturant. Then the people I was going with the next trip wanted to eat there, so I called and they have regular tables that look like cars but with chair. They call them half cars and that's what I requested when I made the PS and at check in. They worked great!

Disney is very accomidating

Have fun
Shelly

I'm a size 26/28 with a large butt and hips, and I seem to remember some trouble on Splash Mountain. Getting in was okay, but it requires some grace to squeeze yourself out of those logs...it certainly was doable though :)
As everyone said, Disney is very chubby friendly...I just wish those darn theater seats were a little bigger :)

DH and I are a little larger than the OP, but we did not have any problems, I am 6'1", and leg room was an issue but not something that would make me NOT ride anything we went on. So go, go swimming, be proud, and have fun :cool1:

We just returned and I posted a thread simillar to this before we left... all the posters alleviated my fears... AND, they were RIGHT!!! I a pretty big... size 26/28 and I rode everything!!! The only trouble I had were turnstiles on PoC and Haunted Mansion... I let myself into the chain section in PoC and the HM I squeezed through...had a moment of worry though.

It was GREAT!

Im a rather Extra Plump guy w/a 60" waist, and I had no trouble with any of the rides. The only thing I didnt ride was space mtn and ToT. (haha no thanks!) Outside of that I just puttered my way along and enjoyed myself. Hope you can relax and do the same!

I love that we can all share our experiences about this. I enjoy that we can actually go somewhere and NOT feel like we will not belong. Glad that DISNEY is plus size Friendly. :wave2:

What a great thread. Hubby and I just started our "Disney Diet" on Monday. I've got 16 months to feel comfortable in a bathing suit! LOL! :earsgirl:

BTW, I love the term "Pooh Sized"! :rotfl:

Disney is great for the pooh sized, Universal is not. My DH and I rode everything including SM, ToT, and RR. Unfortunately the rides at Universal are not pooh friendly and you are welcome to try the seats in front of all. You'll have no problem, enjoy.

As a pooh sized gal myself, I don't have any troubles on any rides, but I have to agree with shelley at the SCI fi- it was snug, and a little uncomfortable. I had the same situtation at Universal; I had to ask for the "big person" seats, especially for my DDs on the roller coasters, but I could still ride everything.
Another reason I like WDW better- no worries with that!

I love that Disney is VERY fat friendly (while i LOVE the term "pooh sized" I call it like i see it.. I am fat. :) )

I went two years ago and rode everything. Space Mountain was my first ever roller coaster.. i nearly peed my pants.. but had a great time

one thing. stepping OUT of splash mountain is a trip and a half. I split my jeans.. all the way up the hienee... thank god i had my jacket tied around my waist.. thats all i have to say about that :rotfl: !

I will be wearing cotton stretchy pants the day we go to MK this time .. thank you very much.
