Fastpasses - Split Onsite / Offsite Stay - Best Strategy ?

Stay onsite for 1 week and offsite for 1 week.
From a "60 Day-out, maximizing Fastpass" point of view ,is it better to do the offsite or onsite first ?

If offsite first, in a nutshell you won’t get 60 days before the offsite stay.

Excerpted from the Split Stay post in the FP FAQ:

Onsite Stay followed by Offsite Stay

• Onsite Package Stay followed by Offsite Stay. The 60-day FP booking window will open at 60 days before the check-in date of the onsite package stay and will extend until the checkout date of the onsite package stay. Additionally, the booking window will roll forward (a “rolling 60”) each day beyond the onsite package checkout date until the guest checks out of the onsite resort.
• Onsite RO Stay followed by Offsite Stay. The 60-day FP booking window will open at 60 days before the check-in date of the onsite RO stay and will extend until the checkout date of the onsite RO stay. Additionally, the booking window will roll forward (a “rolling 60”) each day beyond the onsite RO checkout date until the guest checks out of the onsite resort. This assumes valid tickets are linked to the MDX account.

Offsite Stay followed by Onsite Stay

• Offsite Stay followed by Onsite Package Stay. The 60-day FP booking window will open at 60 days before the check-in date of the onsite package stay and will extend until the checkout date of the onsite package stay. This booking window will not include the dates of the offsite stay because the package tickets are not considered valid until check-in date of the onsite package stay. The ticket portion of the package can be activated up to 10 days prior of the onsite package check-in date (so that the package tickets can be used during the offsite stay).
• Offsite Stay followed by Onsite RO Stay. The 60-day FP booking window will open at 60 days before the check-in date of the onsite RO stay and will extend until the checkout date of the onsite RO stay. Since the offsite stay precedes the onsite RO stay, this window already includes booking for the offsite stay. Additionally, the booking window will roll forward (a “rolling 60”) each day beyond the onsite RO checkout date until the guest checks out of the onsite resort. All of this assumes valid tickets are linked to the MDX account.

Thanks for that explanation. Just so I have it clear.
If I stay onsite Days 1 thru 7.........then stay offsite Days 8 thru 16,
Am I correct in assuming that 60 Days out from Day 1 , I can book Fastpasses for Days 1 thru 7............then 59 days out book Day 8 Fastpasses and so on thru each offsite day ?
By 54 Days out I can have booked all 14 Days of Fastpasses ? (I have an AP by the way). Thanks again for your patience.

Unfortunately the AP complicates things, and limits your ability to book more than 7 days at a time.

After using each day's worth during Days 1-7, so only a week in advance.

Still the 7-day maximum. In this scenario, and assuming you wanted to book all onsite stay days 60 in advance, you would not be able to book the offsite days in advance at all.

The exception to the 7 day rule is if all your days are onsite. We have APs and stayed 13 days this summer - all onsite - and could get all 13 days of fastpasses at 60 days out.

I know, but the OP has yet to mention that as an option for them. They are specifically asking about 7 on and 7 off, in either order.

From the FP FAQ:

- Annual Pass (AP) holders have similar benefits as onsite guests when staying at an onsite resort. The primary difference is that AP holders can book up to 7 days of FPs at all times, and more if the length of the onsite stay is greater.

Can mesaboy please clarify my split stay with booking my Fastpasses.

Here's the scenario: First time doing a split stay and were doing packages for both stays DxDP not RO.
I have an AP but daughter does not. We are staying at the BCV December 24th to the 27th then checking into POFQ December 27th to the 31st.

Can i make all FP+ for the whole week? Or Do i have to wait to book the rest of the FP+ for the second half of my split stay at a later date?
