Hello! What advice to you have for a family of 10 where 6 members are staying onsite (DVC members in a 2bdrm villa that has a max of 9) and where the other 4 family members will be only touring during the day, so they don't need accomodations. They are not Florida residents but will be there for just the day.

I understand that we (DVC family of 6- ages 3yrs to adult) will have a 60 day window to book our fastpasses. And our family members will only have 30 days since they are not staying overnight. We'd like to book 7DMT, Space and TMRR as our three fastpasses. Will we have a reasonable chance at the 30 day mark to have the 4 other members of our family get the same fastpass time periods as us (DVC- so 60 days)? What is your experience/advice. Thank you!

Add the 4 family members to your MDE and link their tickets to them.

When your 60-day window opens, you'll be able to book for all 10 people. Everyone who is listed and/or linked to your MDE shares your 60-day window.

Really? I wouldnt have thought that would work. Have you been able to do that before? It would definitely make things easier.

Onsite guests visiting with offsite guests have been able to book for everyone when FP+ began.

Disney has set this up so that groups can enjoy the parks together. Or, they don't know how to limit this within MDE. Either way, it benefits you.

I can confirm as well, my sil, niece and nephew live in FL and I have been able to make their FP+ with ours. As long as they are linked to your MDE and have enough tickets to cover the days you want to book. We did this for our August trip and again for November.

Prior to reading that I could do this here on the DisBoards I was booking for our family and then at 30 days trying to "copy" our FP+ to the FL family with an ok success rate. This info has helped us so much I share it anytime I can.

I can also confirm this! My husband and I were staying onsite and his parents live in central Florida and we booked theirs with ours (thanks to this advice from disboards!).

Oh nifty! My parents and grandma are staying onsite with us for all 8 nights but my ILs are only staying the last 3 nights. I have my ILs linked to our MDE so they can share our MM. I was thinking that they would have to wait another 5 days to book their FPs but this would mean that I can book them all at the same time! I need to contact our friends who live in FL and are joining us for our son's birthday to see about linking up so I can make FPs for them too.

As long as your in laws don't have a package booked, you can book for them.

If it's a package, you have to wait until 60 days out from their package check-in date. The main drawback of having a package.

Separate tickets linked to MDE are the most beneficial.

Hmmm, I'm visiting in December with my wife and 10 and 8 year old daughters We are within my 60 day window, and have booked all our FPs for the trip.

My mother-in-law is visiting with us the 1st 4 days of the trip. She has a 4 day hopper pass linked to our MDE account, but when I go to schedule FPs for her, she has only has the next 30 days open to schedule FPs.

Anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

Yes, you have to group someone on the resort reservation with your Mom to make the FPs.

Because you have already reserved for your onsite group, you have to disengage one to choose FPs with your Mom. If you had booked for her with your initial group, she would have all your same FPs.

You can regroup or attempt to copy FPs to your Mom now.

Exactly this.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a novice in making FP changes. What are the steps to disengaging 1 member of our party? Does doing this cause that person to lose the FPs they already have? Once disengaged, what are the steps to after that to attach my mother-in-law?

Again, my apologies if this is basic stuff, I just don't seem to be getting the right handle on it.

You would have to cancel FPs for yourself for all 4 days that your Mom needs FPs.

Then, go back in to book FPs for you and your Mom at the same time. Try to get the exact FP times as the first group or overlapping times.

If you are afraid of losing your FPs, just attempt to Copy your FPs to your Mom rather than rebook/regroup.

Thanks everybody, you all just took quite a bit of anxiety out of my trip!

By Copying I was able to add my mom to 11 of our 12 FPs for the days she will be with us. The only 1 that wasn't available was the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. I'll check periodically for an opening, but overall quite amazing.

BTW, in 2 calls to Disney's online help department I was told emphatically there was nothing I could do but wait for her 30 day window.

Thanks again!
