We will be returning to the world in July and we are traveling with another family. Our plan at this point is to not do MGM, not really a lot there we like. However, we do like RNR and TOT and DW hasn't ridden either, she was pregnant last summer when we went. Well this time the other couple we are traveling with is expecting and the DH won't ride thrill rides to start with. My question is, if I stop in on the MGM EMH and get FastPasses and then we go to AK which is planned, can we come back anytime that afternoon and ride once our time has come (and passed by the time we get back)? I know I can only get them for one ride but DW says she doesn't want to ride ToT anyway, so it would be for RNR. Hope this makes sense.

If i understand your question correctly - you have to use your Fast Pass w/in the time specified on it.

so if it says between 1:15 asnd 2:15...come 2:16 - you can't use that fast pass (well - unless you really begged the CM - being a MINUTE late)

but if you are like an hour late - which is how I'm understanding you are wanting to use it - forget it.

hope that helped

If they're not extremely busy, they may let you go ahead and go in even if you're late. This has happened to me when we've been in a park in the am and then go back to the room for lunch and return later. Two other things to remember..

1) You never know what the return time is going to be until you get to the distribution machine. It may be that the return time late enough - or not. I don't really know what your schedule is, so I can't really say. I do know that sometimes in the late afternoon/evening the fastpasses are all gone - so it's better to at least try to get one earlier.

2) You will need the same number of park passes as fastpasses you want. If you are planning to go to MGM alone to get the FP's - you'll only be able to get one. If your friends and wife are elsewhere, but not in a park, you could take an extra one in your pocket to get the FP. That only works if they're not supposed to be in another park then, however.

You might be better off just planning to hit an early entry at MGM for just a quick trip in the am before going to another park on another day.

Hmm...don't the passes have to be "activated"? in other words - they had to be passed through the card reader at the turnstyle in order to actually get a FP?

Not 100% sure on this one - just throwing that question out there.

Stinkerbelle is absolutely correct you MUST ACTIVATE any passes each day for them to work in the Fastpass machines. So I would make sure you slide them thru the turnstiles when you enter.

Thanks for all the replies. Sounds like we might have to make a run by there on EMH and ride RNR and then head to AK.

I've only done it once, but just last month I was able to use my fast pass for Test Track an hour after it 'expired.' I never thought to try this before, but the friend I was with is from CA and practically lives at DL and DCA. He said that it's not against "the rules" that they will regularly let you use your pass hours after the end time, the thought being you could have been caught in a really long line somewhere else or dinner ran late, whatever. I don't know that you're guaranteed to be allowed to use it late, but it seems that there isn't a hard and fast rule about it.
