Hi all,
We are thinking of making a trip to Disneyland this year but it has been a long time since we have been. Does the Fastpass system at DL work just like Disney World's Fastpass system? What do you all think of the Grand Californian? What is a good rate for off season times?
Thanks for the help!

I had this same question. I saw people talking about getting the "fastpass option" and was very confused since at WDW anyone can get a fast pass.

I am not a DL expert since this April will be our first time there, but from the reading I have done here is what I know.

DL FastPass works the same as WDW.

As for the Fast Pass option, right now if you buy a package from Disney or AAA, they are offering an unlimited fast pass option. What this means is you can have as many fastpasses as you want at one time. You cannot get this without a package....

I actually called AAA today to confirm that these passes could not be bought seperately.

We ended up getting a great deal through Disney Travel for rooms and tickets. I booked the rest of our trip on my own, since I was able to get my car rental and San Diego hotel at a better rate.

Yes. FastPass works the same at Disneyland. They have it on Splash Mountain, Indianna Jones, The Pirates of the Carribean, The Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Star tours, and Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin. The will have it on the new Pooh ride opening in April. At DCA they have it on Soarin over California, California Screamin, Grizzly River Rapids, Mulholland Madness and I think on the new Alladin show.
The Grand Californian is a great place and though not the most beautiful Disney hotel on the outside the interior is awesome. It is expensive and a good rate would be less the $200.

All For Pooh....this has been one of my obsessions this week.....getting multiple fast passes. You can buy the Passport Plus tickets without the package. My local AAA was clueless. I asked the room reservations only line and they said no problem, just call WD Travel. I've asked 3 different CM's there and they said it is the Passport Plus available for sale for just the tickets. $129 for adults, maybe $99 for children for the 5 days of use. This is the one that includes the multiple fast passes, a free breakfast in the park 1 day, a $10 ESPN game card(1 per person)

I really was going to book the "package" but it a bit less to book the 2 things seperately.

Now, that said, I have not paid for them yet. I asked if there was any urgency in me getting them quickly and they said they were always available and the good perks were the same. But, knowing Disney and how things do change, I'll order them soon. I hope those 3 at WD Travel and the person at room only were right!

My3kids,

Do you know how many days were included in the Passport Plus tickets? It would be great to book these seperately.

Thanks
Denise

Let me get my paper......

3 day pass(good for 5 days) A:$129.25 C:$99.75

Have to order 5 days prior to arrival from WD Travel.

1-714-520-5060

the other number(who said I;d need to call the first, although they told me about the tickets) 1-714-956-6425

They are mailed to you prior to your trip, so 5 days really would be cutting it awfully close!

My AAA was absolutely confounded by this Passport Plus Pass(I referred them to mousesavers.com) Disney told me the AAA price was the same as theirs.
