How soon can a "second" fastpass be issued if the first one has not yet expired or do you have to wait for the first one to expire.

Fast Pass:

Just as an FYI in Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean is not "linked. Meaning, you can get a POC fastpass while holding a "linked" fastpass.

"Linked" fastpasses are: Haunted Mansion Holiday, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Railroad, Roger Rabbit, Indiana Jones, Autopia, Space Mountain, Star Tours, and It's a Small World Holiday. (**Note--It's a Small World only gets a FP for the Holiday version, and the regular version of Haunted Mansion is not linked normally**)

Lets say you get a FP for Splash Mountain at 9:00 am. The window for your ride time is 10:30-11:30am. At 10:30 you can get a fast pass for any other "Linked" ride.

You should get your next fast pass on the way to ride your first fastpass ride. So on the way to Splash mountain, stop at (Big thunder mountain railroad) and get a fastpass.

Using the same example above, at 9:00 am you get a FP for Splash. You can also get a FP for POC at 9:00 am because Pirates isn't hooked to the system. So if your POC Fast Pass window is 9:45-10:45 you can get another POC fast pass at 9:45 am.

SO at any given time you can hold several different Fastpasses.

If you get a FP for a ride and the "window of time" is more than 2 hour from the time you get the FP.....At 9:00 am you get a Splash FP and the return time is 12:30-1:30.... you can get another "linked" fastpass 2 hours after you got the first fast pass. So at 11:00am you can get another "linked" fast pass.

Also, if you miss the window of time on your fast pass ticket, don't toss the ticket in the trash. The CM's will still let you use the FP even if you have gone past the time. So if you miss the Splash Mountain time of 10:30-11:30 and it is now 1:00 pm, they will still let you ride the ride. They just make sure it is past 10:30 am.

It's all a bit confusing. If I can clarfy any of it any more, please let me know.

Great explanation, Sonya. :)

When'd they start this "linked" thing? And is there anything besides Pirates that isn't linked?

I was told when making my reservations through Disneyland, that all other packages only allow you one fast pass per person per day, but that going through Disneyland for reservations means you have unlimited FPs... is that true/not true/I was totally confused when they told me that? How would/does that effect this linking thing? Thanks!

that is the third type of FP ! Which is a "good for any time any ride". You can get these through Disney travel, and also I beleive the CM's have a supply they can give out for guest recovery. They in no way factor into using other types of FP.

I think starting w/ the January travel Packages thru Disney Travel, you will get unlimited fastpasses for a price. It will be a seperate purchase only for those who buy a package w/ Disney Travel. I have no idea how they will do this.

Perhapse you will get a special coded ticket that you insert into the FastPass machine and it will bypass the linked system. I really don't know.

I'm not too crazy about Disney starting to charge for the FastPass service. After reading of how Disney does things, it seems to me they may be testing a "purchase fastpass" idea on the Disney Travel clients. If enough people pay for the service, why not change it across the board.

We go in the off season and only used 2 fastpasses for Soarin in DCA, but I still don't want this "free" feature to change to a extra cost.

As for when they all became "linked"? I know it has been some time now. I started planning my vacation almost a year ago and it has been like that the entire planning time. Only difference is the Haunted mansion wasn't linked until the Holiday version came out. Same thing happened last year if what I've read is correct. After the Holiday version is taken down, it should be un linked. So for now, only POC is unlinkedin DL, GRR is unlinked in DCA.

When I talked to the person on the phone, they made it sound like it's part of the package, PLUS I was also told that parking at the hotel would be free since I'm a guest, and that even if we end up having 2 cars, both cars will be able to park with no problem. Since I'm going at the end of January, starting in the middle of the week, I probably won't even need many, it will mostly be a convenience so I won't have to wait in line with my 5yo impatient dd, LOL. Now from seeing other posts, it seems like they are tacking on fees but saying it's free? That doesn't seem right to me.

"Part of the package" usually means it's a feature you're paying for. I know for a fact (I just did it) that you can get much better rates for things if you don't buy the package. Which says all those extra "perks" that are "part of the package", cost. They just don't itemize it out to say how much each piece is.

I guess at this point it's not THAT big of a deal, but I specifically ASKED if parking was free and was told yes. I should have been told "NO but we'll charge you for it and add it to your package then it will seem free" you think? LOL I probably can't just call and ask them to remove that fast pass deal... not like we'll need it much anyway I think. But if it's unlimited and all the time and doesn't affect linking, it really WILL be a treat with my impatient one. I know I'll be much happier not having to listen to myself say "PLEEEEEASE stop climbing on the rails!" for the 300th time in an hour. ;)

Actually, with DisneyLAND packages you can many times get a better deal than with room only reservations.

The "unlimited Fast Pass feature" for 2003 is an extra perk in the packages, and it's free. Disney has also "unbundled" the Magic Feature in 2003 so you can get the package without that.

All packages for 2003 include two FREE pass days.

The free parking is a GOOD perk in a package too, it adds up to park at the Disney Hotels. For room-onlies they add a daily resort fee of $7.00 plus tax (2003 rates) for parking, newspaper and health club access.

Just FYI. :)

I hate to feel like it's a gimmick disguised as a package price. I think our package is a fabulous deal, even though i was the one fighting for conceirge/view and lost. Oh well, I'm still gonna have fun!

Michelle,

Where did you get the information about the unlimited fastpass? I called last night (the DC line) and this was not one of the perk mentioned for next August.

Sue

I did find something about the 5 day hoppers having a feature that allows for multiple fastpasses at one time, is this what you were talking about?
