FastPass+ with Kids Under 3

From what I've read, kids under three don't need to have a FastPass to ride with an adult who does have one. But, can I book FastPasses for them and then have someone else in our party use it . . . in case someone wants to ride a second time?

We are traveling with my parents, our 5yo and 2yo twins. I'm thinking my mom won't want to ride much so someone could use her FastPass but our DD would need someone to go with her.

Only someone with a ticket can get FP+, so in order for your 2 year olds to get FP+ you would need to say they are three and buy tickets for them.

The child could ride twice though.

On the rides where we knew our DS would LOVE to ride again, we just had me take him on and DH wait. Then, when we finished, DH would take him on to ride under DH reservation of the FP.

That way, he got to ride some things twice and one parent got a break (or got to take pictures).

Once the child is old enough for a FP, that won't work though.

Great tip! I know my almost 3 year old will love Peter Pan, and we have FP for it. Never thought of us each taking her one time.

If it's a ride that your 2yo is too small to ride, you can use Rider Swap and then your 5yo will get to ride twice without needing another Fast Pass.

Basically how it works is: Your whole party, including the child that is too small, approach the entrance to the line - either standby or FP - and tell the CM that you need a Rider Swap. They'll hand the adult who is going to wait with the child a pass similar to an old paper Fast Pass. Then the group riding first scans their FP or enters the standby line and the other adult and smaller kids can go do something else. After the first group comes off of the ride, the adults swap and the one who waited (plus up to 2 guests) get to use the Rider Swap pass to enter the FP line.

And, only the group riding first needs a FP. The RS pass functions as the FP for the second group. So you could do something like this:

Mom, Dad, & 5yo have FP for Mine Train. Grandma & Grandpa have FP for the same time for Pooh.
Your whole group goes up to the Mine Train entrance and tells the CM you need a Rider Swap.
Mom, Dad & 5yo use their FP for Mine Train, while Grandma & Grandpa use their FP to take the 2yo on Pooh.
Then Grandma, Grandpa & 5yo use the RS pass to ride Mine Train through the FP line.
5yo makes out like a bandit and is the happiest ever (if yours is anything like mine).

We used RS a lot on our trip last month and it worked out really well. You also don't have to use the RS pass right away; the ones we got all had an expiration date of the end of the month printed on them. So you could use them later in the day, or on a different day entirely if you are back in the same park.

I have a question related to that- we are going me, dh, dd5, ds2. We are not sure if dd5 will be adventurous on some of the rides- btmr, sm etc. so, currently, we have some FP reservations for dh and dd and a few for only myself. On the rides that we have only one FP, is it possible for myself or dh to go check in, get the rs ticket and NOT use the FP and just have the rs ticket used? Not sure if that masks sense or not...

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. Only the person/people riding first need a FP. The adult who waits with the non-rider uses the RS ticket to go through the FP line, and can take up to 2 guests with them. So for the rides where you only have one FP, you will ride first alone and then your DH can use the RS ticket to go through the FP line. Your DD can ride with your DH if she wants to, since the RS ticket is good for up to 3 people. You can't just get a RS ticket without someone getting in a line though, either standby or FP.

What we did was split our FP for the height-restricted rides so two of us had a FP for each of them - me & DD, DW & DD, me & DW. (For the me&DW one we just had DD switch MBs with one of us.) That way DD would get to ride everything twice. We knew that my DD likes coasters though, so we were pretty she'd want to ride and then ride again.

It's only height restricted rides that you can get a rider swap. So it won't work for Peter Pan because I don't believe they offer rider swap for that one.

I hope this isn't true :(
I called Disney and asked this question and was told children who didn't require an admission could still ride with an adult on their FP. :(

I've checked this multiple times and true, you under3 may join you in the FP line.

No for need swap if each FP holder goes through the FP line separately with an under3.

The CM was/is correct. If the adults have a Peter Pan FP, then the 2yo can also enter the FP line with them and ride. Naturally, this applies to any ride the child can ride. The pp is correct as well, though. If someone wants their child to have a FP, they will need a ticket. But there is no need for this at all. The child can piggyback on the adult's FP.

That is right. What you can't do is somehow use them for an extra FP for another person. Which a few posters have tried to figure out how to do. You can't book a FP for your ticketless child and have someone else use it.

That's not what the poster is saying.

Perfect, thank you for the information. I understand how the FP/rs works with two people using FP and one waiting with the ineligble child. However I wasn't sure how it would work in reverse with only one person with a FP going first and two people with the ineligble child.
