FastPass+ with AP's - I wish I had know the restrictions beforehand

Hi Nathan! You can use Change Party to add yourself to the booked FPs. You shouldn’t have a problem but if the system can’t add you, try to book an overlapping FP window for yourself.

In your case, the 21-day U.K. Ticket would be more advantageous than the AP. Next time. :)
Hey Jen! Hope you and the family are well? That's good to know, hopefully it won't be too much of an issue then if I can just add myself to the existing FPs most of the time. Thank you! The rest of my party have 21 day UK tickets, but I am planning another solo trip for 2019 - going on my first solo trip next week! Eeeek!! (whereas family are planning to sit Disney out for 2019 - can't keep me away though! haha) I already have tickets for next week's trip, but an AP made sense for me (I think) considering the likelyhood of me taking another trip at some point in 2019... We are also planning to eat onsite, do a tour etc. (as its a few big birthdays this year, so its one big celebratory trip!), so AP discounts will be helpful hopefully! Thanks again for your help Jen :D

How many are you trying to get FP for in your party?
FWIW-I went with my DH 12/30-1/4 and only made FP for most days about 7-10 days out (in some cases a lot less than that as I didn't want to be bothered) - the only one I did right at 60 day mark was for FoP. MK for the 30th I think I did less than a week out-I did fiddle with them day before and definitely day of. The only thing I had trouble with was NYE day of (had FP but tried to change) at Epcot (and even then managed to get FEA same day).
Over summer and Thanksgiving week both have manged to snag FoP same day FP for one person, at time that overlapped rest of party. It is possible but wouldn't always count on it.
I checked yesterday for 30 day out and the only FP not available in all parks was FoP-prime spring break times.

ETA:-the 30 day check I did was for 4 people
7 people in our party have 21 Day UK Tickets, and I have an AP.

Good to know, thank you :) Thanks for checking 30 days out for me too :D Any tips for surviving and enjoying NYE at WDW (we're planning on Epcot for NYE)?

I didn't think it was really as bad as people made out, but I don't mind crowds. We just planned on not really doing more than our 3 FP at Epcot, but there's so much to do there that doesn't require an FP. The line for food and drinks can be long, so be patient. We bought some cushions earlier in the week from the store at The Seas to sit on while waiting for Illuminations. We don't normally bother waiting long, but we knew we would need to this time. We did make a dining reservation, which was good, since the lines for booths and QS were long.

MK on the 30th was great. Best fireworks I have ever seen. Most people were hanging out at the DJ in the hub later in the evening, so many rides weren't too bad. This was in 2016. The weather was a bit cold, so maybe the crowds were lower. They ran out of tea bags, hot chocolate, and coffee at MK but had plenty of hot water. Bring some tea bags if you think you would want a hot beverage in the cold. If you go in with patience and proper expectations, or maybe even over-expectations, then you will have a good time. I would do it again in a heartbeat if I get the chance.

I definitely don't planning on doing many rides (besides FP's) on NYE at Epcot. I think the atmosphere will be fantastic. Good idea about the cushions, may have to get some too! (We are looking at trying to get one of the pontoon boat cruises for IllumiNations if we can - we have a number of big birthdays this year, so it will be an 'all out' trip). How early did you get a spot for IllumiNations? We are also going to try to get a dining reservation.

Will definitely be visiting MK on the 30th for their New Year fireworks (look awesome from the videos i've seen!). Will bring some tea bags, guess I can just get some hot water from a QS? (free or do they charge for hot water?). We have set our expectations - we know it'll be busy, not expecting to get on many rides. Tbh, we are looking forward to the atmosphere more than anything - its something we've never done before. Good to hear that you'd do it again, and the craziness and crowds haven't put you off! haha. Did you stay onsite or offsite? If offsite, how was it getting out of the parking lots?

We didn't get right at the fence, and we grabbed a spot about 1-1.5 hours before. I am short, so I didn't end up being able to see well, but I have seen it before. We saw people staking out spots in the afternoon for the midnight show:faint: The cruise sounds really cool.

We managed to find some tea bags back at Pecos Bills, so I never had to get just hot water. However, since they give you ice water for free, they probably would give you hot water for free, especially if they don't have anything to put in it:confused3 We stayed onsite. We started at POR but moved to Beach Club for NYE. I didn't want to hassle with the buses, but it wasn't cheap.

I thought if you have an onsite reservation, you should be able to make length of stay reservations.

If you are staying at a Disney resort, you should be able to book FP for your entire length of stay.

The only reason you might not be able to is if you have FP booked for the next 30 days, outside of the resort stay.

I thought that if you are onsite, you can book for the entire length of onsite stay, along with access to the 60 day FP window, regardless of AP....

When you're staying onsite, you can book for your entire trip

The information about off-site APs is listed on the website here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/passholders/fast-pass-plus-advance-reservations/

"Annual Passholders may secure up to 3 experiences per day up to 30 days in advance. Your pass allows you to plan 7 days of FastPass+ selections within any 30-day period for one park per day. Secure up to 3 experiences per day up to 30 days in advance—starting at 7:00 AM Eastern Time. And if plans change, it’s easy to update or cancel your selections."

But yes, as other posters said, if you're staying on-site, you should be able to book for your entire length of stay.

Actually, not always.
I hit a limit in booking FP. We have AP
I have 1 onsite stay check in on 3/9, out on 3/13
Second we check in 4/19 and out on 4/25
We arrive early enough and leave late enough on both trips to use FP on every day so I have FP booked for
3/9, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 4/19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24. I tried to book on the 25th and it said we had reached our limit.
It's not a huge deal, I'll book the 25th when we use it FP on 3/9. But for sure I can not book the entire length of stay for both stays, not booking both check in day and check out day on both trips.
And no, there's no off site stay in there, no other day booked, nothing. Just those stays and those days booked. My best guess is somehow it counts nights vs. days

Maybe things have changed? But when I use to book all 5 weekends of SWW, I'd have more than 7 FP days. I'd have 20. I couldn't hold ANY FP between stays, before or after though. Had to be resort stay days only.

Looks like we're on the same travel schedule..
I'll be there onsite for 2 stays March 10 - 11 and April 19-29.
I also hit the you have reached your fastpass limit after the 7th day booked.
I'm new to AP but thought that I understood you could book length of stay if onsite.
So I called the FP help line and they told me 7 days for AP holders at any time ... period.
So I know I can book 2 more days after I use the March ones, but that still leaves me trying to book at 7 days out for the last 3 days of that 10 day stay in April.
Unless I got bad info from the CM I talked to...

You did get bad info. Only because that's what their book says though, AP=7 days of FP. They don't have the * in their book that says, unless the AP holder is staying on site. For whatever reason Disney things AP holders don't stay on site so they only address local, living at home AP holders for the FP rules and that's the only rule CM will cite. That's why I won't bother to to call. It's not worth trying to get one that really knows the system
At any rate, I have more than 7 days of FP booked.
I have 11 days of FP booked, I was unable to book a 12th day
So have you tried to go in again to book more days?

Cool about the overlapping trips too. Ours are both for events, DGD turns 10 on 3/11 and DH and I's 18th anniversary is on 4/22

Question: If someone were to add some tickets (if they have some left over from years ago) to MDE would they be able to book 7 + the Number of Days worth of tickets?

Question: If someone were to add some tickets (if they have some left over from years ago) to MDE would they be able to book 7 + the Number of Days worth of tickets?
Yes. The system allows FPs to be booked for the number of valid entitlements linked to that specific profile.

So regular entitlements + 7 day AP max = total number of FP Days.
