Getting down to the details for our trip (less than three weeks!!!)
Ridemax has our plan using fastpasses but even when we return in some cases it still shows a 10-15 minute line wait to use our FPs. Is this typically the case when using FP (that you still have a relatively significant wait in line)? Just trying to figure out how much wiggle room I have in our plans and fastpass didn't exist last time I went to WDW.
Thanks!!
Yes. Most of the time when you use a Fast Pass, you'll still end up with some wait. Sometimes these waits can be longer than 15 minutes if I whole bunch of people, as in a tour group, return to use their FPs immediately before you. In most cases, this doesn't happen, but you should be aware. If a ride is having problems, that will affect your wait as well. In general, using a FP will significantly reduce your wait versus standing in the stand by line.
I've never used RideMax, but when I used touringplans.com I found that they overestimated the wait times and I actually got through everything faster than I originally anticipated. In some cases, we ended up waiting for the full 20 minutes, but in most cases we waited for less than 5.
It also depends on the attraction. Most still have you wait with the stand by people for a little while after you turn in your fast pass, which increases your wait.
Soarin splits all the riders in half after you turn in your FP. The wait from here is usually around 5-10 minutes, in my experience.
Test Track has a combined line after the preshow, as does the Rockin Rollercoaster.
This is why they recommend saving your FPs, or not getting any at all if the standby wait time is less than 20 minutes.
