Fastpass timing for ROL

I tried to find the answer in the threads but couldnt. My question is....we want to see ROL during our day at AK. But we wont be doing the dining package. How difficult is it to get a same day FP for ROL? I dont want to prebook a FP for it because it will limit our choices for the day. We will be there on an EMH day so we will start at 8am. I just need a bit of help on how to set up my fastpasses for this day. With Pandora and Na'vi River and all the light up attractions, I am torn as to what and when fastpasses to book.

With EMH, I was planning on Flights of Passage and Na'vi River during that time.
Then after 9am I have...
*Kali River
*Everest
*Safari

And then go on from there. Is there a good chance of booking a fastpass for Rivers of Light after 4 or 5pm? That way we can continue to use fastpasses for other attractions before the show?

If you can get a FP for FoP you'll want that.

Very highly unlikely you'll see a RoL FP available for same day. Those are usually long gone

Is it pretty easy to see FoP during EMH? I booked Na'vi River FP for afternoon and am going to try the Safari and FoP during EMH. I guess I need to see if I can do FP for ROL on a different day.

I was able to get a RoL FP as a 4+ on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Our prescheduled FPs that day didn't even start until 2:30 or so, so I know it was late afternoon when I got them. We were a party of 2. I think finding RoL later in the day is doable, but will depend on when you are going and the size of your party.

I caved and reserved ROL dining with Tiffins. I couldn't get Tuskerhouse....though I will keep checking for maybe a breakfast.
