My 30-day window opens tomorrow!

We will arrive at MK before RD and be ready to ride at opening. Park opens at 9 no EMH, etc.

I've been playing around with a touring plan and checking wait times, but am still not sure which time to schedule our first FP+. I hear you can ride standby with short waits for the first hour or so, so I figured we should do that and book our first FP+ at 10, 11, 12 (based on what's available of course). Or is it better to book them early so you can get your next set earlier in the day?

Any advice? We are a party of 6 and will be in the park all day.

Thanks!

I like to book in the early afternoon, but I usually don't worry about getting extra ones. If I can, then great, but I don't stress about it. You are definitely right not to schedule for the first hour as most rides will be walk-ons. Peter Pan and 7DMT build lines fastest though and an FP for one of those early on would not really be a waste (I usually rope drop Peter Pan though).

From Post #9 (Strategies) of the FP FAQ:
- If staying in a single park for most of the day and arriving at park open, the best time of day to schedule FPs is often late morning to mid-afternoon. This approach balances the competing desires to have useful FPs (when lines are longest) with the ability to get additional FPs (when they may still be available).

- If a guest is interested in getting as many FPs as possible, then they should be scheduled as early in the day as possible. Wait times are usually shorter in the first 2 hours after park open however, making these early FPs not as beneficial as they would be later in the morning or afternoon. The advantage to this approach is that more FPs for headliners may be available after these early FPs are used.

Oh yes - forgot to say thanks Mesaboy2 for the FP+ FAQ - very helpful, I'm just still unsure which to choose as we are both getting there at RD/staying all day AND want to minimize our waits/maximize our rides.

I have not been to MK since 2010 and am in a little overplanning haze :-)

Then I would start scheduling your first FPs for around 10:30a or so. Waits shouldn't be too bad before that if you commit to being there at park open. You can also attempt to move up your 2nd and 3rd FPs as soon as you tap in to the first FP attraction's queue. This would allow you to start working your 4th sooner, after entering the FP queue for your 3rd.
