Is it possible to get in the fast pass line with a fast pass that is for an earlier time slot in the day, or do they expire if you miss your time slot??

Shhhhhh, this is a secret.

Your FastPass is good from the earlier time printed on it through the end of the day. We've often used FP after they've expired, sometimes as much as six hours afterward.

Yes - but you run a risk if you try to use a fast pass from another day - LOL! We were in line for Test Track - and the guy ahead of me (he was Asian and by himself) gave the CM his Fast pass when we were queuing up to go into the "video room" - the CM said "now your fast pass is pretty old" (and I was thinking hmmm - they DO check the times!) and the guy (who probably spoke perfect English and knew what he was doing LOL) just nodded at the CM - and the CM said - "your fast pass was for 3:30..." and I was thinking -wow it's 10 pm! - and he continued "but it was for June 3rd!" (this was June 7th or 8th!) The CM continued with "but I'm going to let you go thru - No Worries - Hakuna Matata! - But Just so you know - We DO look at the Dates on these things!" The CM was very good natured about it - I guess he could have been a real jerk and pulled rank - but he didn't.

So using it AFTER the time seemed to work just fine - but don't try to go a minute before your time either! WE were held at the door of Soarin' waiting for a minute to pass by so it could be the official fast pass time......

Every once in a while you'll get a CM who doesn't let you in, but that is a very very rare occasion. If that does happen, you should just come back in 45 minutes to an hour when they have gone thorugh a rotation.

They do expire, but it is reported that most CMs don't make a fuss over it. Depends on the CM, how busy things are, etc.

I think it's up to the CM checking FPs...I've seen some people say you COULD use them, I've seen some say you couldn't.

Honestly, most people (especially those who do not use touring plans) don't realize how long a show or ride is. Disney understands this, and realizes that a lot of people would miss that deadline and Fastpass would not work as they planned, so that's why most CMs do not enforce an expiration.

You mean there are everyone is not like all of us? :lmao:

The unofficial guide website states that you can always use a fastpass after your time. However, they were referring to Test Track and the possibility that it shuts down for a thunderstorm or something. But the statement made seemed to apply to all fast passes. I don't recall any CMs looking too closely at any fastpass I had. I wouldn't have been surprised if I got away with using it early.

We use them late all the time and have never had a problem. But I wouldn't try even a minute early--they seem to watch that like hawks. And then the fastpass entrance gets congested with people waiting for their 1 minute to be up, and slows the whole process down.

Some of the new rides Sorrin and Everest they are refusing expired one during peak times .I saw this 4 different times last week.

And just to balance this, I used expired FP's several times on Soarin' in the late afternoon.

So there is no "absolute" in this.

If you want to be SURE... go during the window.
If you happen to have an expired (same-day) FP you can certainly try it.

A major percent of the time they will be honored.

Interesting...we were there last week as well (June 23-29), and over the course of 6 days used about 20 FP's, including those for Soarin' (3 times) and EE (twice). We were almost ALWAYS after the ending time on the FP, often hours past, and we were never even given a second glance. We had one for Space from 3:00 in the afternoon that we used after midnight during EMH. I guess we just got lucky!

The ones I saw I'm not even sure of the details I just know they had fastpasses in their hands and were told they were expired and could not be used. They were all between the 10:30 and 12:00 in the morning time frames.

Yes we also used many expired Fastpasses as we would get some then leave for the waterparks then return later. We even used one on PotC that we recieved from a ride break down during EMH.

They also reopen the fastpass machines for most EMH rides

I'm not in any way disputing that you saw this (many have posted the same),
I'm just saying that it is just not a "given" that you will (or won't) be refused on an expired FP, even on the busiest rides like Soarin'.

I am saying that if you find you missed your FP "window" (even by several HOURS, even on a "hot" attraction) you can still give it a shot at the FP return.

Worst case... you'd have to go "standby".
Best case... you're IN! :thumbsup2

At Epcot last month, on a very busy Saturday, we used expired FP on 5 separate occasions. 3 were for Soarin' and 2 for TT, and never had a problem.
