you can use it after the between such and such times but not before. We learned that from a CM a few trips back. We always try to go during the time frame but if something comes up and we are not able to make it ... we know that our chance isn't lost because we can go later

This is an honestly an incorrect usage of FP's, too. We all do it, but it's not the intended use for FP.

Perhaps not, but it's never been an issue with the CM's and we have been encouraged by CM's to use them in this manner. However, CM's have NEVER encouraged us to use them days later, not even the following day. Again, the majority of Diser's do not recommend using FP's days later. Myself included. I do however suggest they be used outside the window on the ticket. I will say it does backfire on us sometimes, we either never use them because the ride is now a walk on or the ride is closed, or the FP line is super long so we just skip it. lol It's not a perfect system, but then what is.

I've heard this rumor too- on a generally reliable podcast - that Disney may be returning to an enforcement of the Fastpass window.

CMs are trained to accept them after the return time on the same day. It's one of those 'unofficial official' rules.

The same with Disney hotel guests being able to use Magic Mornings every day it's offered.

Several months ago 'insiders' who are never wrong reported that the Disney board met in WDW and voted to give Eisner orders to look for a buyer of the US parks. Turns out they were wrong.

When evaluating rumors like this you have to ask yourself... what problem would Disney be trying to solve if the rumor was true.

Very few people know that it is policy that Disney accepts FP after the return time.

However those people that do know are highly (Disney) educated, repeat visitors and active online.

Occam's razor would lead us to believe that it is unlikely that Disney would irritate those visitors with no gain on their side.

On the other hand it is well known that there is a segment of Disney employees, both at a low level and in management, that dispise Fastpass.

That is why there is always some type of 'fastpass will be limited in someway' rumor every year in various forums.
