I was reading something about fastpass and had a question about return window. I've always been that fastpass user where we thought we had to comeback between the hour frame they give us. But many told me that you can come back anytime. Is that the case? Any CM reject you if you comeback past your time window?

I have seen CM refuse people who come back too early, but never if you come after the return window.

Been returning late on my FPs for years now and not once had a problem. It is a core part of my touring strategy. Just to be clear, you can come back anytime after the window, but never before your window. Have fun!:goodvibes

Except in rare circumstances, like when ST was brand new or during very busy periods the end of the return window for FPs is not enforced.

I've never had a problem returning after the window. Sometimes even months later. As an AP holder I've picked up a few extra FP and saved them for a return visit when I knew I would be staying late.

That's interesting. I used late FPs during three trips over summer for ST. Never was an issue. Were people refused?

They ARE supposed to be used the same day. The CMs probably didn't notice the date was wrong.

Yeah, I think some CM only glance at the color. A few times CM didn't even look down long enough to ensure it was at or after the return time.

Start tours calmed down quickly, at least from huge lines to just big lines. Like I said it's very rare, it depends on the circumstance of the day.

Here's the rule of thumb, if the FP return line is too long, they will turn you away. If you get a good CM, they will explain that you should come back a little bit later, once the FP return line dies down.

This usually only happens when the attraction went down at some point during the day or there is a rush due to a show nearby getting out, otherwise it should be fine.

That being said, it is up to the CM's discretion from what I have seen, if they see you constantly showing up with FPs from previous days, they will say something. Generaally speaking FPs will only be accepted on the day they were issued (with some exceptions)

Almost always the FPs are accepted during after the one hour window on the same day. Of the few circumstances when they are not accepted, almost always it is a new or misinformed CM. Just kindly ask for them to check with a supervisor. In a one-in-a-million chance that you still can't use the FP, hold onto it. Chances are very good that of you come back later that day you can use it then.

We've never had a problem using FPs after the time window. Most of the time we have a big stack and then by the end of the day when we go to use them there are short lines anyway. It's still fun to collect them during the day.

So it shouldn't really be a problem if I use them on the same day. I was always stressed out to make it to the line by the window. It's hard. :lmao:

And sometimes when a ride goes down, I've heard CMs tell people they can use the FP later, even after the window!

In all my time on the DISboards and viewing other boards sometimes, I've only heard of maybe 3 times where people getting turned away due to FPs that are after their window. With those numbers, I'd say 99.9% of the time (or more!) it's just fine.

(I wouldn't use a FP the next day, unless the ride was down and a CM said to (which I have heard of happening). Certainly not the next month, year, etc.)

I have never even tried to use one the next day, but have always used them after the time.

I was able to use the HMH 2 minutes before the window, I was prepared to wait the 2 minutes out but they accepted them.

Never worry about using your FP after the window. If you are running late, the CM doesn't know why ... and they are not supposed to ask why. Example: you were having a problem with one of your children ... or a delay with a family member at first aid. You never know. You can always use them after the window any time up until closing.

This is an incorrect usage of FP's. FP's are not designed to be used days after, they are supposed to be used the same day. This is not encouraged by the Dis nor the majority of it's members, myself included.

This is how we normally do it, get as many FP's as we can during the day and ride ride ride later in the day. :) That strategy gets changed up at times but it's pretty effective.

You will be ifne, we do this regularly.

I've been able to use mine 5 minutes early. We walked up and stood off to the side a bit, the CM looked at us funny and we said we had 5 more minutes and she waved us through. It was Splash, she said, "by the time you get to the person taking these you'll be past your 5 minutes". She was right, that is a long queue, takes a while to walk it. LOL

This is an honestly an incorrect usage of FP's, too. We all do it, but it's not the intended use for FP.

Speaking of FP's, is there a thread that has all the info on the making the best use of collecting FP's? I've always just collected them as I could, but only recently learned of certain things like BTMRR being disconnected. I've never had a strategy, but seems like I could be doing better on getting more in a day. Haven't seen a superthread or anything, but thought I would ask....
