Some big questions that I still have.
(1) When does this launch?
"Fall" could be September 1. Or it could be November. One would think that they would want it in place for the 50th, and they would want to work out the kinks beforehand. So maybe just after Labor Day? Or does this, like everything else new, start on October 1?
(2) When you are paying extra for the
Lightning Lane rides that aren't included in
Genie+, can you choose a time, or are you stuck with next available (the way you are with Genie+)?
It would suck to get up at 7 am and pay $100 or more for my family to ride FOP and then find out that we have to get there immediately to ride.
(3) What are the 10 rides that will cost extra and aren't included in Genie+? (And are we sure that there are exactly 10?)
I would guess: SDD (though one of the screen shots showed it included in Genie+), SDMT, Space, ROTR, Remy, FOP, MMRR, Test Track, Frozen, Everest.
(4) Will so many people buy Genie+ that Lightning Lane time slots will fill up quickly for rides like Peter Pan and Splash, making the whole thing a disaster? Or, alternatively, will Disney avoid that problem by allocating a ton of capacity to LL, thus making the standby lanes painfully long?
(5) How much will the extra LL passes that aren't included in Genie+ cost? The cost will be dynamic, so Disney won't announce them in advance. But approximately how much are we talking on a normal day, a crowded day, and an insanely crowded day?
(6) How much capacity will Disney allocate to LL for those rides that are not included in Genie+?
If the capacity is relatively low, the standby lines will be faster than they were in the old fastpass days. But if Disney prices these passes lower, and thus sells more of them, the standby lines will be longer (though perhaps still shorter than before, since people can only buy two of these a day, no matter how much they are willing to spend).
