Fastpass Question

We are passholders and use fastpass but really don't keep up on the rules. We ride our 2 or 3 and then are pretty set that day. This trip I am taking a party of 8 and I am newly injured so I will need a scooter. There is no way for me to transfer to some rides easily and I've ridden them all multiple times, so I am not concerned about missing anything. (Park me in a shady spot with a glass of wine!)

Here's the question. I've been booking passes for our entire party of 8. I think I read or heard somewhere that you can't book a 4th unless everyone in your party has used all 3? Is that just until they expire from the last time? I don't want to hold up the group, but also don't want to scan a band on a ride I am not going to ride and drive up the wait for everyone else waiting in line.

Anyone know for sure?

You can't book a 4th until you have used 3. But is you want to book for everbody, they would all need to have used 3.

Example:
2 have used all 3, they can book a 4th. Other 6 have to wait until they use 4th.

For your dilemma where you know you may not be riding a ride, you can just change your FP to something else in an earlier window to ensure the window is done by the time they have all used their last FP.

I think you could also cancel that 3rd FP you didn't use to free you up for a 4th. Not sure though.

Wow, this sounds crazy to me, that all eight would be linked together like that! You sure this is the way it works?

You don't have to actually use it. Once the window is over, it's considered used.

You could also let someone else in your party use your Magic Band for a second ride.

I've thought of this on some rides like rockin roller coaster where one kiddo will be too short. It seems anyway you slice it we will be waiting for someone or the last pass to expire.

I'm not and that's why I'm asking. I just remember reading something like this, probably here!

LOL...I didn't mean to imply that you are crazy...apologies. I just didn't know it worked this way for a large party. Can anyone answer this?

No worries! Worst case scenario, I will come back and report my test dummy story!

It's not so much that all 8 are linked together, it's that any guest attempting to book the 4th FP+ needs to meet the criteria for booking that fourth. So if a party of 8 walked up at 2PM to book a 4th FP+, but one of that party had an existing FP+ for Wishes that night, then the party of 8 wouldn't be able to book the fourth as a whole party. The other 7 certainly could book a 4th FP+, but not the 8th person. The CM at the kiosk should be able to immediately say "Guest G cannot book this 4th FP+, but everyone else can."

You can only do 3 online, now for yours, You don't have to pick fast passes for yourself at all or you can actually pick different fast passes for different members of your party than yourself. I do the 3 for my older daughters who want to do things like space mountain etc, and do mild ones for my husband and I to go on with the grand baby yet i manage all of them on my app. You just pick the ppl you are choosing a new set of fast passes for or unclick, yourself. Another option is you can also let someone else in your party use your fast passes if you aren't going on the rides. So in other words, someone can go twice on a ride they love, using your band to scan after they've used theirs. Disney doesn't care and you are a guest too, if you want to give yours to someone else go for it. (We did a set of fast passes for all 4 of us at hollywood that allowed our daughters to hit tower of terror and rocking roller coaster twice, once w our bands once w theres) we didn't need any for ourselves, and makes no difference to the line if I use it or one of them and it's a service you each pay for w admission or resort stays even though it's 'free'. If you want to give yours to someone else go for it. Ps I love the shade and wine part...sounds like my kind of Disney day!! :)

Oh, okay, this makes sense then. Thank you. I thought it was ridiculous that everyone in the party had to use their FP+ before anyone in the party could book another. Thanks for clarifying.
