Fastpass question

We're planning a single day in the park during the busy Christmas season with two toddlers. Our plan is to get there at opening and head straight to Fantasyland. We plan to focus mainly on the little kid rides for the day, but the one "big kid" ride we want to do is Star Tours. I'm guessing that if we want a Fastpass return time of mid-morning, we should send a runner to get them sometime during the first hour after opening (its not a magic morning day). Is this a reasonable assumption? How long would it take someone to get from Fantasyland (say near Dumbo) to the Star Tours Fastpass area and back? Also, can we take our 3 year old's ticket and get a third Fastpass so Daddy can ride twice, or does the ticket have to match the person riding?
Also, is there any sort of play area or out of the way corner near Star Tours where we could let the kids run around and maybe have a snack while we're taking turns on the ride? I can't really tell from the map.
Thanks!

You can get one fastpass per ticket and it doesn't matter who uses them. You can also use baby swap. This is when all of you go up to the cast member at the front of the line of the ride your kids are too short to ride and tell them you need a baby swap. You will be given a pass that works like a fastpass so the waiting parent doesn't have to wait as long in line for their turn. You can combine this with the first parent using a fastpass.

As far as what to do with the toddlers while you take turns riding Star Tours, you might want to ride Buzz Lightyear. If one of your toddlers can fit on your lap, all three of you can ride together.

Have Fun!

I would get the ST FPs within 30 minutes of park opening and no later than 60 minutes if you want a return in the morning. It tould take 2-2 minutes from FantasyLand to ST to get the FP. A place for a 3 year-old to hang out near ST? Hmmm, maybe by the Snow White statues around the castle? Or the garden area around Pixie Hollow?

Yes you can use the 3-year-old's entrance ticket to get an extra FP.

While one is riding Star Tours, the other could go with the 3 year old across the way into Innoventions. There are all sorts of things to explore, play, and do, as well as space to move around.
