Fastpass+ is cramping my style

This has been in place for two years now roughly? And it hasn't really changed other than adding the tiers and adding the 4th FP. I think the 4th FP was a decision point...are we going to sell extras or not? And they realized they didn't have a steady-enough supply to justify setting up a purchase system.

I guess I can't see them doing anything big with it at this point until something else big changes in the parks.

I saw that AP survey question as testing the waters for a big price increase. Yes, I'm a cynic :)
I think that question was a calculated risk. I'm sure they figured that their AP holders wouldn't dare provide a negative answer to something like that. Remember we are constantly reminding trying to pump up stockholders is not greed but just solid business practices. I'd venture a guess that most of those people giving that support are AP holders.

Enforcement was always fine with me. I didn't even know you could scam the system when you could. :)
The only part that would make it unpleasant, IMO, is the size of the bands. But I'd be over the moon if they morphed FP+ back into more of a Legacy system. Only the rides that had FP originally would have this feature. Take your bands and tap them as opposed to how we slid the tickets through. I suppose bcrooks's idea would work, but I'd prefer it didn't start until we were actually within the park.

Me too. And this isn't a statement about it being more or less fair to off-site vs. on-site. It's about being able to change your mind until morning of. It's not locking into three months in advance. I want to decide as I am approaching a ride if I want to SB or FP based on what my family is experiencing at the moment. Did we get through X, or Y faster than we thought and now we want to stroll over to something? It's just about returning to a place where we are in the moment. Not relying on what sounded like it would work months earlier.
Legacy FP enforcement only commenced when the parks were preparing for FP+. Prior to this, Legacy worked just fine without enforcing return times. It was great. I also think returning the parks to FP for only headliners would be big step in the right direction.

That is not encouraging. I was happily clicking away on the overpriced, greedy, and 'yes I'm planning less vacations at WDW' buttons. Hopefully they got blasted on the survey. That could be one road to customer service improvement. But your probably right.

Just using it for headliners would be best.

Disney was hoping that demand for those FP would skyrocket, and then they could use them as a commodity to coerce, reward, and sell. But that hasn't happened.

So ditch that plan. remove the green mickey heads from Potc and HM.

Why are they green Mickey heads anyway? Shouldn't it be a pirate at Potc and a ghost at a haunted mansion?

Based on an article I read, that was one on the things the imagineers requested: they wanted themed tapstyles, but the brains behind the plan thought that would be too confusing for guests. What a laugh! Booking your FP+ reservations 60 or 30 days out on a glitch system isn't confusing? I think the themed tapstyles would've been the least confusing feature of FP+.

I'd be happy if the first step was just removing FP+ from the attractions that didn't have legacyFP.

You mean there shouldn't be FP+ for Its A Small World, PoTC, Haunted Mansion, Spaceship Earth, Great Movie Ride? Crazy talk ;) I don't like FP+ and don't think I ever will, but I definitely would tolerate it more if they did just remove the FP+ from rides that never had fastpass. Those rides didn't have fastpass for a reason, they didn't need it. But to make FP+ "work" they had to add more choices so now we have increased lines at rides that were generally less than 25 minute waits.

I agree but if they took out all of those rides then they would have to lower the number of prebooked FPs you could get. Not sure which I would prefer, pick your poison I guess :)

This is the same thing as the change to Living With the Land and why I expect that someday soon even the Jungle Cruise will lose the live driver and be replaced with the exact same recorded loop for every boat.
That will ruin the Jungle Cruise for us. We like the silly spiel of the drivers. A recording just wouldn't be as much fun.

I think HM actually did have legacy FP once, but then they took it out because it wasn't needed and just made things more complicated.
I remember that. It's ironic that they took those out because it made things more complicated and yet now they've slapped this nonsense on just about everything.

Gotta justify that multi billion dollar expenditure !
