Do I even need fast pass+ for my September (Labor Day week) trip? With the exception of the Anna and Elsa meet and maybe the SD mine train??

You need FP+ any point you would like to save time. It is never required, but can almost always be used as a useful tool to save time if used efficiently.

We used them, and needed them for the 3rd week of Sept. HS was completely packed but it was during the Frozen hoopla.. and MK had it's usual lines. I think they were probably less than other times but it was still worth it and saved a lot of time.. basically walked on instead of waiting at all. At that time Toy Story M had an hour wait still.. 7 Dwarves was a 2 hour wait.. those types of things.

Even though September is a slow time of year, I'd still recommend using FP+. Why not?

Even though most of the lines can be fairly short in September compared to the rest of the year, there can still be significant wait times for the most popular attractions (like 7DMT). You'll see some posts that will say "On my September trip, all rides were walk-ons" but that's an exaggeration. Maybe first thing in the morning, but as the crowds build during the day, you'll have some waits.

If you don't want to tie yourself down to FP times, remember you can always change them, or you can skip them if you want. But it sure is nice to have them!

I live by the motto "Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it."

Yes! We went in September and December this year and both had long stand-by wait times. I definitely was surprised in September. FP lines were so short, so you definitely want to take advantage. We were able to get a 4th and 5th in September in MK, so that was the only difference. All stand-by waits looked longer than I am used to for September.

Thanks for all the responses. Sounds like I need to at least plan for headliners and things that are important to the kids. If nothing else maybe I can save some time in the heat!::yes::::yes::
