Fastpass Grace Period Denial Poll

Have you ever been (or attempted to be) denied FP+ access within the standard grace period?

Probably just wanted everyone to be within their window so they didn't have people standing off too the side at the entrance waiting for their exact time.

Yep. When crowds are thick and lines are long, the cm's are not going to advertise grace periods that's for sure. They just want to make sure everyone in line will scan in and not hold up the line.

One of the most common is to pretend they don't speak English, or any language the CM happens to know

Yep. Seen this one. Also, the ones who think they can use a FastPass for one ride on a different ride and then act surprised when the CM tell them they don't have a FastPass.

Thanks all for the votes! Very telling results! We have a handful saying they were denied within 5 minutes before, but the only ones that posted seem to indicate that their watch was not in sync with Disney time. Only two said they were denied within 15 minutes late, and I don't see posts from them. I think we've successfully done a scientific study to prove that the grace period is always good! :-) Alert the presses!

I think we have also seen that if you are late and have a good reason, CM's are generally gracious enough to let you in.
My only story in terms of being late - our lunch at the Sci Fi Diner was running long, and we had a Toy Story FP expiring shortly. I mentioned it to our waiter. He said that management had told them that they want guests to take their time and enjoy the meal, so if you're late for the FP, bring your receipt and tell them, and they will apparently always let you in. We were soon enough to make the grace period, though. And naturally, it turned green!

We were let in before the 5 minute grace period. We had an 8-9 fp with park close at 9. We knew we were a few minutes early so we were just hanging around thw fp entrance (off to the side). The cm saw us and asked if we needed help. We told him we were about 10 minutes early for our fp. He told us no problem. He had us scan and he overrode it. Very nice of him.

I had a cm allow me into Peter Pan 10min early on Monday night. I was a party of one and it was 850pm for a 9pm fp time. No one in fp line and most people were waiting for fireworks. Pretty much a no-brainer for the cm....

I wish I could've heard. I could've been completely wrong as I could barely hear the guy talking but what I took from it was one of them was suppose to be having surgery later when I guess the fast pass time would be.

Like Disney just forces you to take FP times and you're not allowed to modify lol

I've never seen a CM interact with their board when scanning 5 min early or 15 min late. Anything outside of this window they've either denied entry or had to override. So I have no reason to think the 5 early/15 late isn't built into the system.

Some people have said they entered more than 5 min early and it automatically turned green, but I dont believe that. I'm guessing either their watch was slow, or they didn't look at the time. I accidentally tried to enter a ride early and I was 6 min too early..CM told me to just wait another min. So as soon as my watched changed to 5 min early, I entered.

I AGREE that this feature is not built in!

I have been refused Space Mountain 2x for being 2 minutes early.

Now that the OP has completed his FP booking and this thread has veered away from “denials,” closing.
