Hi everyone,
I've heard repeatedly that the Mickeys light up green within the standard Fastpass grace period (5 minutes early, 15 minutes late), so that it's not even up to the CM. But I've also heard people occasionally say that this isn't guaranteed. So I thought it would be interesting to do a poll of everyone's experiences. Exclude shows and anything that's less than an hour window. Also, let's say no experiences more than 2 years ago, so we don't dip too much into any old policies. If you choose anything other than No or Never tried, please post about your experience! Thanks!

I've never seen a CM interact with their board when scanning 5 min early or 15 min late. Anything outside of this window they've either denied entry or had to override. So I have no reason to think the 5 early/15 late isn't built into the system.

Some people have said they entered more than 5 min early and it automatically turned green, but I dont believe that. I'm guessing either their watch was slow, or they didn't look at the time. I accidentally tried to enter a ride early and I was 6 min too early..CM told me to just wait another min. So as soon as my watched changed to 5 min early, I entered.

I voted that I've used the grace period successfully, but I've also been allowed in earlier than 5 min. before, and later than 15 min after. However, it should be noted that each time that happened, it was fairly slow. And the CM had to override in these situations.

Yes I was denied at 5 min but guessing my time on my phone was off bc we just stood aside, waiting a bit and tried again and got in --according to my AT&T phone it was 5 min early but must not have been official Disney time, IDK but i've never arrived earlier than that time and I've never been late for a FP+ so no experience there.

I don't think we've ever been late, but we did take advantage of the 5 minutes early a few times last trip. Mickey turned green.

Last Nov we got to MK late, probably due to one of the foot races taking place playing havoc with the bus transportation. We did our usual walk-ons, Space Mtn, Buzz and People Mover before going to our first FP ride, 7DMR. We got there a few minutes after the grace period but they let us on. I suspect many folks had their plans screwed up due to the bus service, took us 45 mins. on the bus to get from BW to MK to say nothing of the long wait to get the bus. Three Disney Spring buses came and went empty before we got picked up.

Our group of 4 were allowed to enter the FoP FP Line almost 10 minutes before our window opened. The light turned ‘green’ for us which was a nice surprise.

I have been allowed after the grace period. I think there's a difference between 5-10 minutes and like an hour or 2 later. Usually when we have come after it is obvious that we have been delayed by something-usually I am sweating and look like I may drop from exhaustion.

I have done 5 minutes early countless times. I only had it turn blue once (right at 5 minutes), followed quickly by green. The CM glanced down and pressed something, so I think he overrode it. More than likely it was a case of Disney's clock not agreeing with my phone. I've never tried late, so can't say if that works or not.

I have been straight up lied to about the existence of a grace period by a CM working an information kiosk. We were at 10 min past our window for Soarin at Disneyland. I quickly stopped to ask a CM if we would still make it. He said "no." I thanked him, we ran over to Soarin anyway, scanned in at 14 min past our window and it lit up green and we walked into the line.

I was pretty mad at that CM for outright lying. But luckily I knew about the grace period anyway.

We've done both 5 minutes early and up to 15 minutes late. Both times we got the green light. I know those are the grace periods, so haven't tried outside those times.

Although we haven't tried the early, we've been late a few times but with in the 15 minute window and Mickey turned green.

Same here. We use both quite often. More than I like quite honestly because my DH historically runs late for everything! Not me, the female in the house that does makeup/hair, etc. He, the male, that only gets up and showers and takes 5 min to get ready is always running late, but I digress. Due to his "issues" with timeliness, we utilize the 15 min after on at least half our FP each trip. Not a single time has the CM had to do anything to allow us to enter. Mickey is automatically green.

On our last trip, my husband and son were hovering around the Mission Space orange queue about 15 minutes early, the CM there asked if they were waiting to scan FP. They said yeah, he said to go ahead. Mickeys turned blue, but the CM said go. This did not actually use up their FP, not that they tried to go again.

We've had no trouble at all scanning in the grace period, BUT be careful if you have any anytime FP because if you scan outside your window, the anytime pass gets used!

Excellent warning.

What's an anytime fastpast?
They are FP valid for multiple rides for an extend period of time. They are issued for many reasons, some from GS for guest recovery reasons, some when a ride has gone down when you had a FP scheduled.

Good to know, thanks!
