FastPass for Star Tour?

Would you waste a FP on Star Tour or do you think the wait is not that long?

Depends on the time you plan to try and ride. There are some times where the line will get long and a FP would be good. When we where there in Oct, low crowd day, in the mid afternoon it had a wait of 60+ min
If you look at the cheat sheets at EasyWDW you can see an example of wait times and see the times it gets long
And even during short times it depends on what else you'd FP. If there is nothing else you'd want to FP then do one no matter what the time.

Kinda depends on who you're taking and what their preferences are. Since you get to choose 2 rides from Tier B Fastpass+, I usually take Tower of Terror and Star Tours for me and my wife. However, if my grandson was with me, Disney Jr. would be a must and I'd sacrifice Star Tours for that.

Depends on what else you'd be considering from that 'tier' of attractions. I personally always choose it because there's nothing else I particularly care about enough to FP. (Well, Tower, but you get two...)

There's no way to know ahead of time. If you also want to do one of the other rides in that tier, you'll need to consult your crystal ball.

Ok ty everyone...I'm using TouringPlans and it kept telling that some of my FP weren't needed. So I just changed them and luckley they were for the exact times that TouringPlans had us going.

When are you going? Right now everyone is probably hitting that ride because it is doing the new Force Awakens tour and wait times are probably pretty high with crowds being drawn there for that and the new Launch Bay.

I went in Late August .. (pretty low crowds) and was shocked when I "wasted" a FP on it at 11:30 AM. The standy wait was 10 minutes. We rode it via FP+ .. got off, and walked right back (standby) and we waited even less than we did with the FAST PASS 15 minutes earlier.

But honestly, not sure what else you would use a Tier 2 Fast Pass for at DHS anyway Star Tours and Tower of Terror. I feel a FP is wasted on ANY show .. and since there are only two "rides" in Tier 2 .. seems pretty easy to just pick Star Tours and Tower of Terror anyway. Just make the reservation early (so you can do a 4th Fast pass sooner than later) .. or pick a reservation time later in the day (when crowds would be highest).

In case you don't know, that is actually a bad FP. May be the only one where a FP hurts you. The viewing from the area they send the FP users to is an awful view. You don't want to sit there.

In our experience, the line for Star Tours is fairly short, UNLESS the Indiana Jones show has just gotten out. When that happens the line builds up to 40 minutes or an hour right after the show. We were also told by a CM that was the case. One time we had a FP+ and the line was walk on, and I was telling DD we could ride it twice and he jumped in and said- do standby first because Indiana Jones is about out and by the time you get back around the line will be long and you will want to use your FP+. Our FP+ was going to expire fairly soon and he said- there is a cushion after and you will have time to use it- if you use it first, you probably won't want to get in the line. He was right. It went from walk on (other than waiting a minute for the vehicle doors to open to load the next group), to by the time we exited and went around to go back in, a 40 minute line!

Also, a lot of people are in a Star Wars frenzy right now, including my DD (and probably my DH), and there are new scenes tying in with the new movie. I think that will make the line longer.

Star Tours is one of DD's favorite rides (and DH and probably one of mine too), so we always use one of our 3 FP+ for it, just in case the line were to be long. Typically we ride it multiple times on a DHS day, because if we keep looking we can find times the line is 10 minutes or less. Again- with the new movie and new scenes, I'm not sure I would count on that right now.

I always get Star Tours because I know I want to ride multiple times and there's really nothing else I want more (don't do ToT). I schedule my ST FP for late afternoon because in my (limited) experience, if there's going to be a line, that's when it falls (3-4 pm). Normally (lower-to-mod crowd seasons) I have no trouble riding standby more than once when it's a 10-20 minute wait.

We always get Star Tours for my son and I for when the lines build since he doesn't do TOT and there aren't 2 other tier 2 we need....

We got one, didn't need it when we got there, so rode standby and changed our FP+ to something else. There isn't a lot we want a FP+ for at DHS, so it was worth having it in the bag in case, and not an issue when we changed it.

Interesting, not sure I understand what you mean. In the queue area? Seating in the ride itself? In the walk-through? It used to be the same run but just parallel turnstiles. Been a while since I've been there though. Can you elaborate?

The post you quoted is referring to using a FP+ for Disney Junior. That's a show, not a ride, and gets you access into a special seating area which isn't a great view (so I'm told- I don't have kids and Disney Junior is not on my to do list!)

Yes, my post is in relation to Dis Jr show. Sorry.

And yes, the reason the view is not good is the show is elevated and you sit on the floor. If you sit in the front, the area they direct FP users to, you are too low to see anything on the stage and as such you can't see the puppets. It's a great show but very poorly executed.

This week it is mostly bouncing between 10 and 20 minutes. I have seen it higher, but most of the time it is 20 or under.

We always get FP for that because we've seen the line grow to be pretty long and we don't really want to wait in that specific line. To us it is worth it. We don't do ToT so for us we pick RnRC, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and Star Tours.

We went in August too. My hubby and I LOVE the ride so we just went stand-by over and over until we were within 10-15 minutes left in our windo or the wait went over 20 minutes and then we'd use our FP+... But then we were there for 3 weeks and had plenty of time to do whatever we felt like.
