Fastpass/Fastpass+ Mutually Exclusive?

Does anyone know how the fastpass will work for folks staying offsite?

We are likely going to WDW early August and we heard about the magicbands.
Do the offsite folks get magicbands?
If not, how would fastpass work for us or will it not?

~If you're staying offsite -- the new park tickets are RFID capable and will work at the FP+ kiosks, allowing you to schedule three FP's in advance for the day, like everyone else.

~If you have an old ticket, you will have to go guest services to exchange it for an RFID ticket first. It is rumored that the Magic Bands will be available to offsite for purchase sometime in the future.

~There are also plenty of CM's present at the FP+ kiosks to assist guests with this transition -- so pack your patience! Have fun. :cool1:

~ETA: OP -- I don't anyone who has an FP+ kiosk at home. So, I think most people have enough common sense to understand that when I said you can reserve three FP+ in advance for the day at the ****FP+ kiosk**** that means I didn't say you can reserve FP+ at home. LOL.

As of *right now* offsite guests cannot prebook FP+ reservations. No one knows if Disney will ever allow offsite guests to make their FP+ reservations in advance. Currently, offsite guests can make same-day FP+ reservations at AK and MK, where the legacy FP machines have been covered. Epcot and DHS will presumably go the same way in the next few weeks.

PP is correct, MagicBands may eventually be offered for sale to offsite guests. But your RFID ticket will work the same way when it comes to using the kiosks in the parks to make FP+ reservations and to gain access to the FP+ queues.

I haven't read through the whole thread yet so I may repeat things already mentioned. Yesterday we visited MK after getting off the Disney dream.

I am not a fan of the FP+ based on yesterday's experience. The 3 FP+ experiences a day was a definite drag on WDW. In the past we would get 4-6 of them a day and have a great time

The CM I spoke with said that prior to FP+ on average people would use 2.

I asked about when they will allow more than 3 and he said they may not.

He said the goal is to move more people through the line since there are less FP+ Being used.

I found most rides had a 40 minute wait. This is most likely less time than in the past but not low enough for some rides.

In my opinion I wouldn't visit Disney as much in the future because of the FP+ system. I found it to be a drag.......

Second day has brought us to Epcot. Turns out new FastPass+ doesn't allow test track or soarin on the same day... Apparently there are categories and you can't have two of the better category

Also soarin was sold out for the day very early and the wait time is 80 minutes so the theory of the new FastPass+ making the wait times shorter is a load of *€{'&&${{~. !!

I'm regretting the 3 day tickets I bought.

Happy though I brought the kids here when the old system was in place so that they have those memories since they can't relive them under FastPass+

The thread is over a year old...not sure why it was pulled up for a question, but all old stuff, a good much of what has changed
