FastPass expire time?

I have a pretty good understanding about how the FastPass system works at DL, having used it the past couple of summers, but I have a question about a particular issue with it.

During our visit last summer several of the rides (Splash, HM, BTMRR) broke down during our 4 day stay. In some cases, the rides did not restart until after the FastPass we were holding for that ride had expired.

In all cases, we were allowed to use the "expired" FastPass at a later time. In fact, a few CMs told us that we could use an expired FastPass at any time during the day, even if the ride hadn't broken down that day.

Has anyone else had much success with using expired FastPasses at DL? I would imagine that the CMs could reject your ticket by rule, but do they?

Thanks,

BTMichael

A few times were a little off, and they didn't bat an eye, but we weren't far off.

We used Pooh FPs several hours after the FP hour window. I think I used 11:00 am FPs at 7:00 pm.

But then again, Pooh seems to break down every day - multiple times a day.

They were watching the times last week....
I figured with the new "Unlimited" FastPass Park Hopper tickets that they might be stricter these days. If they weren't, you could collect FastPasses to several of the popular rides early in the morning and often, and then use them at a later time if the expire time was being ignored.

Yeah, I can see them doing this, like if you were within 15-20 minutes of the expire time.

Their are many many accounts of people using "expired" FP's. The general rule seems to be you can use the FP any time after the start time the day it is issued.

BTMichael,
I've never had a CM question the ending times of a fast pass even when we were running a "little" late. But, they will hold you to the second with the start times. :)

I have never had any problem using a FP that had expired.
