This is a false argument. "They are making a change so it must have been broken."
Yes, they are making a change. It does not need to be because anything was broken.
But it could be

The FP ticket wouldn't give a window if it wasn't supposed to be used that way. Just because it was never enforced doesn't mean you can just erase the window. It's there, as plain as day.

You just don't get it, Dan. Albytaps makes the rules -- not you and certainly not those people who think they run the parks.
At least, that's what the space lizards told me.
It's equally possible that it could be due to space lizards.
Could be!

For every time my family has used a fast pass late, 3 standby people were able to ride the ride "3 people sooner". We seem to be pointing out how it negatively affects the later standby riders but never mention that it helped the earlier standby riders.
This has already been addressed multiple times on this thread. Just because you can't figure out another reason doesn't mean there isn't one.
The same could be said to those who can't figure out why Disney WOULD start enforcing times.
It's all moot. They're going to do what they're going to do and we will all just adjust how we tour to compensate. How ever did we all even survive a day in the park before FP came along?
There's almost as much whining on both sides here as there were on the Avatar threads...and lord knows how much I whined about that! We the visitor have NO power here. We are at the mercy of Disney's decisions and will just have to get over it.

Merchandise...resort specific merchandise? Have you NOT noticed that most of the resort specific merchandise is gone, in favor of generic merchandise? Yes there is still some, but very limited. Gone are all the resort specific shirts, etc. All I can think of offhand are resort pins and cheap trinkets.
I think this WAS true, but that they are moving the resort specific merchandise back to the hotels. Easywdw did a long detailed report a few days ago about the new stuff available at the GF, you need to scroll down almost 2/3 of the way through this long post, but near the end you'll see there's lots of new stuff at the GF and I believe the plan was to restock the other hotels with resort specific merchandise too. http://www.easywdw.com/uncategorize...-kona-sushi-grand-floridian-merch-mine-12912/
Let me throw this out there: Right now, with a FP, you might walk right onto a ride... or you might end up waiting 5-10 minutes.
What if the new enforcement is because they are about to give out MORE fastpasses and want to better manage the expected wait FP users will have -- so that instead of either a walk-on or a short wait, there will always be a consistently short-ish wait.
Those extra FPs could be part of the early Xpass experiments that are probably coming, in theory.
Anyone?
