What new procedure because the news on XPass didn't leak until November, not six months ago?

I didn't mean that early (and xPASS was rumored earlier than that...I think the name at least came out in November...the earliest I remember hearing a semi-credible report of the enforcement change likely due to the new system was back in August).

There were some posts from CMs that were made shortly after the rumor of the 3/7 date for the enforcement, but before the Hub memo went out, where they said they had heard about it internally, and likewise said it probably had something to do with future changes and getting the CMs and guests used to it...I can't remember what thread it was in (perhaps this one, but that was so, so many pages of boogers and space lizards ago...)

There was this post from Oglet back in October that this was coming up soon (the date was not known then), as part of all the major changes to the system.

Last year for Lent, I gave up the DIS. I'm glad I didn't this year or I would have missed this.

This year I gave up drinking. Probably better for me, but not as much fun.

Anywho. . .

And, wadecool seemed to want to speak with me. Since the topic of the thread is Fast pass, I figured I'd ask about Fast pass. Just because you're exhausted with "everyone's views" doesn't' mean others are. That doesn't even make sense. I was the one ignoring your insults for days, trying to stay civil. Your "high road" approach is sterile.
I'm not concerned about the discussion you.....or as you refer to it as...."we'....had. You(aka "we") don't need to be involved. But, even though your groupies may inflate your ego, you are not the landlord of this thread. Don't like it....get lost. Why is nearly every post you've made toward me when I wasn't even discussing anything with you? Including this one?

And who is this "we" you speak of? Are there other voices there?

Perhaps you can just stop taking up space with your various degrading posts so actual fast pass conversation can be more clearly picked out from the lizards and snipes.

Anyone that has read the first hundred pages knows where I stand but for those that haven't:

- Disney allows late FP use, therefore, those that use it are within their rights to do so.

- Why do they print a window, what was the original intent? Don't know, don't care as it is irrelevant to the allowed use. I still contend that while they would like people to return during their window, they knew lack of enforcement on return time did not have a significant overall effect, therefore, it was easier to allow than to enforce. Social engineering in play here, print it and they will follow, even those who knew that Disney allowed late FP use would still follow the windows (and there is nothing wrong with that).

- There is plenty of evidence to support that Xpass is coming. Reports on numerous websites, heresay for CM's, etc. There is no evidence to support that late FP use became a significant problem. WARNING - OPINION TO FOLLOW!!! I do not believe that late FP usage accounts for any significant delay. When you look at the length of the standby line versus the people entering the FP line it is apparent that the percentage of the rides capacity dedicated to FP usage is not very high. Add that to the percentage of people using late FP and it can't be very significant IMO.

- In the memo posted way back in the beginning of the thread there was language that implied that there would be increased usage of FP (or Xpass or combination). When you add to that the way in which they will be handling Dumbo, it would appear that perhaps the reason to start enforcing the FP window has more to do with the fact that they plan to increase the percentage of capacity dedicated to FP/xP than late usage. By enforcing it now they are giving both guest and themselves a period to adjust to the new system.

JUST my opinion but I think the reason for a printed window is because had they not given specific times, then people would've been confused when they were supposed to use it. By printing a return "window" guests incorporate that into their day. Before I learned on the DISboards I could return late, I had many blisters touring WDW backtracking to use FP's &/or running to the other side of the park to get a FP for when we'd hopefully make it to that side of the park.

I used it in the window before not more than 2 trips ago so I can adjust (won't have a choice) but I much prefered the allowance to come late - touring was much easier not having to rush, let alone conflicting with an ADR, which now becomes more of a constraint IMO with the required 24 hour cancelation charges.

I agree with the opinion that FP isn't changing because of guests using it late. I've read many pages of this thread & I simply don't agree to the contrary.

As to the amusing little off topic remarks, I've seen things like this in other long threads & whether they are posted for attention or amusement, I don't see them as that big a deal. Surely if you don't find them amusing, why not just ignore them?

Irrelevant posts IMO aren't nearly as disturbing as some of the hostile tones that this thread has taken so I'm challanging everyone from this point on to play nice & ignore or not respond to posts that are unDisney like. Surely we can all do that, right?

I would be interested in knowing more about how Dumbo is going to be handled if anyone knows.....

Lastly, if it is true & evidently it is (for whatever reason) that FP times will be enforced as of 3/7 because they are planning to increase the capacity of FP's available (meaning for free, please!) that is certainly a positive we can all look forward to (but secretly I do hope the window is exended!)

Try reading or looking something up sometime. Since that doesn't seem to be your strong suit, I have taken the liberty of quoting my previous opinions on the FP issue which can be found in post #1750 of this very thread:

"My opinions: I have happily used FP's later in the day during past trips because that is what I was instructed to do by Disney CM's. Because of that instruction by paid Disney personnel, I do not believe that I or anyone else who used FP's in this manner were breaking any rules or scamming the system. Since using FP's late will no longer be allowed after March 7th, I will adapt my touring plans and move on." My personal opinion is that this policy change is occurring in anticipation of an X-Pass type system and not because of any abuse of the current system.

See, I don't feel the need to repeat my opinions ad nauseam like others in this thread...
