I am SO excited it's nearly here! :cheer2: My son and I discussed rides we definitely want to do this afternoon when we got home. :goodvibes A few are rope drop ones for sure. Here's my problem, I'm driving to work when that FP window opens. No, taking the day off isn't an option. I'm a teacher and I've already got my days mapped out and only losing 2 sick days. I want Mine Train on my 60+1 day...around 10:30 or so. I have no qualms pulling over and making just that FP when the window opens. :rotfl2:I would then continue on to school and make the rest there. I was considering the 60+3 day if we have to, but that's a Wednesday and there's not a Wed open the month of May. I'm worried that first Wed in June is next. I checked DIBB and right now, Monday night, it's ok.

Do you guys think I'll be good on Mine Train if I make it to the MDE site by 6:30am Central time? That's only 30 minutes later. I realize how popular the ride is, but I'm hoping not so popular still I can't get that time of even an hour later. Opinions?

For our January visit, I was on right away and I could only get a 5:00ish SDMT for my 60+1 day. We were there right after the holidays (1/3) and it was very busy though - holiday crowds still hanging around.

I would probably pull over if the morning timing on 60+1 is important to you :)

Good luck! I hope you get what you are hoping for!

If it were me and this were an option, I’d be setting the alarm early, get close or even to the school and make your FP reservations as soon as they open. You’ll probably be too early for school so treat yourself to a coffee or even brekkie once everything is booked and dream about your upcoming trip! Booking FPs for me is more important than sleep - and often I don’t sleep well the night before booking anyway!

This. If at all possible, I would go in early. I had my DH take the kids to school so I could go in late after making ours.

I was gonna suggest the same thing. Try to get to school early and just do it there. I would be too stressed stopping on the side of the road to do it. You may have issues like the site crashing. Also, do you have a school computer? That way you can have it open on both your computer and phone just in case one isn’t working.

I will leave early! Thanks y'all! It's not like I'm not used to getting up at that time as I did it for two years at my old school. I'll set my alarm for 4:25! :earseek: I'll be out the door close to 4:50 or 4:55. It takes me about an 1hr 5 minutes to get to my school. Not sure if the back gate will be open but I can park close to the front where I can pick up the Wifi with my phone and the school laptop. I'll take it home with me tonight! Mine Train here I come!!!!!! :woohoo:

I had my fast pass selections last Thursday, with plenty of offerings for 7DMT. The only one that I had to get different than my perspective plans was an 11 for SDD instead of a 9:30 that we wanted, but all is well. I checked back yesterday to see if there were any other time slots (in hopes) but there was nothing available for SDD on that day at all so 11 it is!!

Wow an hour is a long ways to go!

First of all, mad props and commiseration on the early morning teaching routine. I've been there!
Second, prepare for a more lengthy and frustrating experience than you might be expecting. Unless they've made improvements to the performance of the MDE app—and I can't tell that they have—it might take a while. It took us 45 minutes for two adults on two computers (using separate but linked accounts) with two phones as backup to make 18 FPs. Expect constant failure and refreshing. (Or, at least, maybe your experience will be different and here's hoping!) I'd definitely use the laptop, and have the phone out as a standby. I did see that time was of the essence; rides that were there on the dot were not an hour later.

Edit: I'll suspend judgement on MDE; I see there was an update pushed 3/28. Hah, our last day. Here's hoping the overall system is more reliable!

That’s a great idea if it’s possible. I did the same thing last year. I made sure I was at work by 645 am on fast pass day

Retired teacher so totally get this! Let us all know how it worked out! Pulling for you!

I will let you know! And thank you!! :thanks:

Best of luck getting what you want. Thanks for investing in our youth.

Thanks! And it's my pleasure making our youth of today better young ladies and young men for our future! ::yes:: :teacher:

Yes it is! However, I want to teach. So if an hour is what I need to drive to do so, then that's what I'll do. This next school year I'm going to cross my fingers I can get closer to home. pixiedust:

I sure do appreciate your kind words. For two years straight I had to get up at 4:30am so I could leave by 5am arriving at my school by 6am. Didn't have to be there till 6:40, but considering I drove Interstate, better safe than sorry. Still driving Interstate, but don't have to be to work till 7:15 this year. I usually arrive by 6:40. Tomorrow will be the exception...I'm getting there right at 6am my time, which is 7am Disney time! :hourglass I have my school laptop with me and will be using that to do my FPs. I'll have my phone as backup. I've already tested out certain areas in the parking lot to pick up Wifi and know where I'll be good just in case certain gates or doors aren't open when I arrive.

And yeah...a couple days ago, Saturday I believe, things were pretty bad on FP. Not just the MDE app, but all across the board. Either the NUMEROUS complaints caused Disney to kick it into gear and fix it....or we just didn't give it time to settle. :rolleyes1 The ONLY FP I'm concerned about is Mine Train. I'm working all my MK FPs around that one. A PP did say she got the time she wanted on that one and that there were plenty of times to choose from. :worship:

I should arrive in the parking lot about 5 minutes before FP time. If the drive in and/or walk in gates aren't open yet, I will just work them in my car from my school laptop. I've already tested areas in the parking lot for good WiFi! :goodvibes

Slightly different scenario but my son and I have to book fast passes and he is coming off a 12 hour shift Wednesday morning at 6 am....if he is not still saving lives somewhere. :firefight I might have to book for a party of 10 alone on one computer. Thanks to the OP and all other teachers who we rely on for our future. I wish the OP good luck on her selections!! And looks like our dates coincide so say HI :yay: when you see us in our traveling Herd!! LOL

This is exactly what I was going to say: leave early, arrive early at school and do what you need to do. It's only one day, and the sacrifice of getting up early /leaving early is worth the payoff of having the Fast Pass.

Alternately, how old is your son? Could HE make the Fast Passes for you?

You guys are SO kind here! I can't wait to start reserving them! Good luck on yours too! :thumbsup2 I'll come back in a separate post when I get home from school and let you all know how it went! :jumping1:

If you happen to see a tall chocolate woman and an 11 year old chocolate boy near her height :faint: scurrying through MK all giggles, that's us!! :rotfl2:Say hi! :wave2:
