Is the DL fastpass system still independent of the DCAP fastpass system?

I want to be able to pull fastpasses for the popular DCAP rides ASAP in the morning, but want to be able to pop over to DL and pull fastpasses as well. Can I do this or will my DCAP fastpass window affect my ability to pull fastpasses at DL?

Thanks!

Can I have some clarification?

What if me, my wife and daughter enter Disneyland for MM- Can I take their tickets with me to DCA and pick up fastpasses and then return to DL or do they need to swipe their tickets at DCA and enter the park with me?

It would be nice if they could continue riding rides at DL while I made a fastpass run to DCA.

It may not be every ride at DCA, but I do know this... if you're planning on your family being at DL and you hopping over to DCA for RSR fast passes, you'll be disappointed. Each ticket has to have passed through the DCA turnstiles in order to issue a fast pass ticket for RSR

I thought that may be the case.
Thanks for the quick reply!

Hmm, I have to disagree with the previous poster. The ticket just has to be activated at ONE of the parks, either DL or DCA, so if they used it to enter DL, yes, you can take the tickets to DCA alone to get FP's. While the PP claims this didn't work for RSR, I have no idea why that would be true, as it doesn't apply to other rides in DCA and the RSR FP machine is connected to the rest of the park.

Can anyone confirm or deny a difference in policy with RSR specifically?

No, this is wrong, each ticket does NOT have to pass through the DCA turnstiles in order to get a FP for ANY ride inside of DCA. You can take your ticket, your wife's ticket and your daughter's ticket and get FP for ANY ride in DCA while leaving them in DLR. :)

Awesome.
Thanks for the responses. Now I can plan accordingly.
Love the DIS boards!

while we are on the FP questions can some one tell me how far from rsr fp that the woc fp is? Or how far the rsr fp is from rsr the ride?

Jade, RSR fastpass machines are at the entrance to a bugsland, right in front of "it's tough to be a bug".
WoC fastpass machines are at grizzly river run.
it's about a five minute walk between fastpass machines.

5 minute sfor the slowest walkers, to be more specific. For fast walkers it is more like 2 minutes. :)

I agree with the others that this advice is not correct. Once your entrance ticket is scanned at either DL or DCA it can be used at the opposite park to obtain FPs without entering that park except for say one person from your group who takes your ticket with them. I have done this personally countless times.

Is the RSR faspast machine independent from the other ones at CA? I'm asking because i've read that by 8:30 a.m you may get a returning time of 8:00 p.m (just an example). :confused3

We usually ride Soarin' & Grizzly with FP, so I want to plan ahead.

TIA :goodvibes

This has not been my experience. I have been able to have my family enter DL, and take their tickets to DCA and get RSR FPs.

Are the FP machines connected at each park? For example, if I pull a FP at DCA that says, "Your next FP is available at 10:30," does that mean 10:30 at DCA only? Could I pull at DCA and then go over to DL and pull another one?

No, RSR FP machines are not disconnected from other rides in DCA. there are simply hundreds of people getting FPs for RSR first thing in the morning so that means the time changes quickly, thus resulting in someone getting a return time of 8 pm at 8:30 am. I hope that makes sense. :)

Each park is independent of the other park, so you can do exactly this, get a FP at DCA and immediate go to DL and get a FP there.

No. And I don't know why this confuses you. The FPs are distributed starting at regular park opening and the FP windows just move out from there to 8PM and later.

I think there must be some other question you have that you did not ask.

I'm not confused, I'm just asking to make sure. Getting a FP early morning with a returning window in the evening (just an example)means we have to plan the day around attractions with a different approach than in previous trips.

This raised a question for me. If I understand the FastPass system correctly, you can only have 1 FP at a time, and can't get another one until the time on the 1st one is expired. Correct? That being said. If I get a FP for RSR with a return time of 8pm at 10am, I cannot get a FP for Soarin' (or any other DCA ride) until after 8pm correct?
