Fastpass Changes Effective April 10

Is this any different than how it was before?

No...but as the crowds continue to swell it taxes an imperfect system even more...

Just more local foot traffic to downtown and animal kingdom is gonna push crowds into a place like studios - which 100% a weak link and is gonna be for at least 2 more years.

The stupidity of fast pass+ is that it was built to serve a 30 year old bank of attractions with twice the crowds they were designed to serve...
It was dumb then...it's dumb now and they aren't working fast enough to catch up.

What's also silly? Amusement operators who for 15 years decided it was ok to not pay for amusements.

Just silly from "go"

Thanks, Bob...right...it was all Tom's fault, right?

I love the FastPass system, and especially love FP+! We used it in both 2014 and 2015 and think it was a nice upgrade, but that's just our opinion.

It's not really FP+ in itself that is the problem. It's the reality of the number of people in the park now having substantially increased, vs. no real change in the number of rides to go on.

There's only so much that "optimizing" can do if you have 50,000 people in the park and the rides can only support 30,000. Made up numbers just for illustrative purposes.

FP as well then. Even no FP. But now we get a cut the fast passes as well. Love it.

Interesting many on here said FP+ would kill attendance.

Either way though I agree too many guests deminish the amount that can be done, pre FP, FP and FP+. What a great problem for a business to have.

Nice try there ;)

Bingo...

Nothing was added from 2001 through 2012...and the net gain was zero... For much longer because other things went away as "additions" we're made.

Can't have a 20,000,000 park comfortable with 10-15,000,000 worth of ride capacity.

That's just magic kingdom...it's not the worst off...that's MGM with Epcot and animal kingdom closely behind.

Great problem for the business perhaps, sucks for the guests. The fact that Disney see 3-4 rides in a day as a satisfactory number is part of the problem. But then again with customers who will willingly queue for hours on end, nothing is forcing them to act differently.

'Shrugs' I for one feel like FP+ did help me relax more and boosted my attendance as we go every year now.

We love knowing that we have 3 guaranteed rides and then filling in the rest. We do 2 big rides prior to 10 at MK and then take our time the rest of the day. I like having TSMM and not having to show up at DHS until after noon. I have a young family though, we typically are the 10-7 crowd.

Way more relaxing now, nice try there.

And attendance has increased as well, probably because of it.

Sprinting between ride times and dining reservations?

Wow..you really know how to party :cake::woohoo:

Come on, sometimes there is a point-- have you already forgotten fast pass runners? Just taking that out of the picture betters everyones "relaxation"

No...but why should the average masses compare themselves to the fringe fools?

in general im probably in favor of eliminating FP all together, but if i had to choose which system FP+ in my view is much better than the old FP system

I completely agree...I have no problem with the system.

It's the investment and operational decisions that were/are wrong.

Let's cut the crap: you have to constantly refresh parks...even Disney parks...they did not.
If you are gaining clientele at a significant rate...you expand or augment to handle the influx and expectations...they did not.

So the counter is: it's a business - I think they're smart.

Great. Then line the Disney parks up with all the other businesses. Businesses fail all the time.

The trend strongly suggests that attendance would have increased if they'd done nothing at all.

It is at least arguable that FP+ helped capacity somewhat. But mostly it's done that at the expense of longer lines for all your non FP+ rides.

There's only one real solution to capacity and that's to provide more things to do.

If you are 100% dedicated to making excuses for Disneys poor (read that again) management of WDW in the Iger era - probably because it affects your tingly excitement for a trip 6 months away or how you rest on your pillow of self confidence - then you are required to reject the solution to the problem.
And required to deny the problem.
