Fastpass Changes Effective April 10

Great explanation of original FP.

We always had that scenario with FP. But now with FP+ we keep at least 3 out of the lemmings hands. Many of them were doing 6 to 9 a day.

Now FP is available not only all afternoon, but evenings as well.
Expect they eliminated that system 4 years ago...

Now there is an actual incentive to pounding the mornings...at least in the short term

It wasnt bad to reward early am lemming pounders IMO, just needed to give the rest of us some percentage of the FP disperesment.

That and the app and better planning ability.

Having done a spontaneous day this made it worse for lines. No chance of any useful same day passes. Yesterday, no problem. Every ride seemed to have some wait, very few walk ons even as it got late.

It will help with inital pretrip ones but dont expect much more after you use up the set. Plan wisely and dont expect anything useful after lunchtime if any are left at all.

MK waits low right now, 20 BTMR, 5 Splash, 15 HM, open until midnight though.

I suspect tweaking is going on.

Edit 7DMT 30 min at 9:10.

This is intriguing. Would people using more of the FP availability lower the lines for headliners?

I took it to mean that since additional fast passes ran out, that maybe there were fewer given today (during "tweaking" period), thus making standby waits shorter. Hmmm....

Possible...

Or maybe they are trying to bottleneck the fastpasses into certain hours?

That might make...I don't know...RIDICULOUS upcharges for before and after hours more palatable to some?

That's exactly what I said two weeks ago and I got shouted down

The lemmings are gonna try to pound the morning so they can "keep going" and "maximize" the fast passes by getting 4,5, + in each day.

No fastpasses all afternoons...that's gonna be real fun.

The other piece of this is that Disney reported MK at a 10 crowd yesterday.....

Of course...it was a random Sunday outside of a vacation/travel window...so why wouldn't they mob the place to wait 45 for small world?
:sad2:

...but hey - $69 for pooh and breakfast ain't so bad, right?

Also the possibility of all the AP holders checking out the new system from home to see what they can and can't do-- I know I did-- but I didn't hold any for long... SOME reported booking FP and letting them ride out the booking windows to see about bookings of the subsequent passes......:duck:

It's still in the spring break window. Our beach down the road was more crowded this weekend than I think I have seen it here in ten years. We get "the April People" down here. Snow bird rentals are mostly Jan through the end of March. Then the owners wrangle an extra month of revenue by renting for april-- the last month before it really rains and gets hot. It is our most "touristy" month of the year.

"Spring break" seems to last 5 months at WDW anymore...just like Halloween is 62 days ;)

You know...I never thought of that...

And usually I detest "tinkering" with the system. But the sheer lunacy of fp+ since day one (can't handle more crowds without more stuff - pretty simple) has me intrigued to "tinker" a little.

so I was able to book my FP+ this morning as my 60 day window - there are some days where I only booked 2 passes - am I correct in reading that if I don't book a 3rd FP+ for MK one morning that I can't book my FP+ for HS later that afternoon while I'm in MK??

If this is the case, is it best to just book a "throw away" FP+ earlier than the rest of my booked FP+ so I "spend" my 3 passes?

I thought I had this whole thing figured out!!

You have it "figured out"...you have to book a throw away...which doesn't make any sense because it's more stress on a "lineup" that's being held together with duct tape.

Makes no sense - really.

Are you sure? I thought others on the FP board Others report being able to make SDFP in another park after their 1/2/3 pre-planned FP have started?

Has anyone been able to cancel '2' of the pre set FP+ after using the first and then making a new one for a different park?
We did this last year at a tiered park but it was :

Use #1
Cancel #2 and #3
Then go to kiosk to get # 1 again for later in day as my 4th FP+

Hoping to use the same scenario but get # 4 from app for different park

If you have to wait until the fastpasses are during their windows...it still clogs the system.

Little gain
