Its our first WDW trip. I am learning to embrace WDW planning vs. our traditional DL "winging it" methods of touring planning (or lack thereof). We check into BCV on 6/14. I have my ADRs all done, park days planned, FastPass+ strategies mapped out, you name it. I've stayed up until 12am, log in to MDE and try to book my first FP+. Can't do it, nothing happens. I frantically close browser, re log in. Nothing, nada, zilch. Panicking I check Dis and search - what could be going wrong?!?! Why can I only do FP+ for 4/14-5/14?! Check my MDE reservation page to reconfirm that my tickets are there and then I see it...
My Plans - 61 Days to Go!
61 days, not 60 days. Because I forgot that May has 31 days, not 30 and tomorrow at 12 am is when the magic window opens up. And I feel like an idiot. Such meticulous planning and I forgot the basics and the little poem "30 days hath September, April, June, and November. All the rest hath 31...." I learned in elementary school to remember the days of the month. May hath 31 ("hath" what is that?) Oh well :rolleyes2
Just thought I'd give you all a laugh. 61 days out from 6/14. Cheers!

Thanks Cakebaker! I'm glad you got all your FPs, even the elusive A&E :) I'm pretty confident my boys have no desire to meet them (yay!) as they've never been big into meet & greets and were fairly terrified of the characters when they were little. Now its all about the thrill rides and its me that they have to convince to do the coasters haha. Fingers crossed that tomorrow night goes as smoothly as tonight did for you!

breathe. You have a 60 day window and don't want A&E, you're in good shape.
You can relax .... Midnight is probably 9 pm by you, right? So you may as well do it when the window opens .... But if you're tired, you can just book any days that you really want to FP parades or fireworks and do the rest in the morning ... It'll all still be there.

I had my 60 days a few weeks ago. I could not stay up late. So did them on a Saturday morning. No A and E for us, but we got everything else. Hope your booking goes smoothly tonight!

The only reason we booked last night was the new, never before heard request to meet Anna- not Elsa, just Anna. lol Otherwise we would've waited until today sometime. But since we were up anyway, and it didn't take long, we went ahead and booked the others and will undoubtedly tweak the times a little later. We had no problems booking anything else. At 60 days, there's no reason to stay up to book unless you want A&E or you just want to.

Same! I made my selections in the morning probably 10am. I took about an hour or so and planned out my four days and kept editing fast passes and still got everything I want at good times.

Don't let the drama about planning that goes on here worry you. I got all adr's I wanted too. And I'm going the busy memorial day weekend. And I haven't planned a thing since that 60 day mark lol.

Just remember to look at today's MK hours. If they are open until 1 a.m., you can't do FP+ until 1 a.m. As long as you don't want A&E, you should be fine. I just made my first FP+ ressies last Thursday at 1 a.m. Got everything we wanted at great times. It took about 10 minutes, plus 20 more for moving around the times. No sweat!

I did mine a few days ago at 8 AM and got everything. No need to get fastpasses in the middle of the night.

Have fun! As a former "winger" who became an uber planner for our last trip (with the addition of fp+) we ended up having a lot more fun when mid week we decided to chuck all the plans, maps, strategies and just wing it. You'll find your groove!

I feel the same...my 60 days is 4/21 and I am freaking out. Been to WDW many times but this is my first trip with FP+ and we are a party of 8. Don't need A&E but do what 7DMT.

I lknow by next Tuesday I will be a complete basket case :)

I played around with the FP+ system prior to my 60 day mark. If you have your tickets logged on MDE you can do this through the 30 day market. The system is pretty intutitive. It still helps to play with the system before hand. It's easy to cancel the FPs.

We had our FP+s over five days planned out by time. The system was a bit slow. I'm not sure if that was our system or Disney's. I'm guessing the latter given the time of night. The whole thing took 15 minutes or so. We didn't go after Anna and Elsa or the parades or fireworks. We got all of our times within five minutes of our plan except Mission Space. That one was about 15 minutes off.

It's pretty painless. Good luck.

How do you play around with it? When I go into MDE and click on FP+ I get a message that "valid admission tickets are required", which I have and are linked in my MDE, plus I am the only person who shows up. I read in the long FP+ thread that this is a common occurrence until midnight of your 60 day mark.

I'm not sure what the issue is. When I logged onto my MDE account and clicked FP+ I was able to go through the whole process. Our entire family showed up and the dates through Day 30 were lightly shaded. I could click on any of those days and schedule FPs that were open.

Don't worry too much about planning .. I think you can still "wing it" even with the feeling of needing to overplan because of Fast Pass +

I experienced Fast Pass+ last October for the first time and I was able to get some Fast Passes at less than 30 days out .. schedule out a relaxing morning an "winged" the rest of the day based on whatever we ran into (hey look .. the parade! .. Look there's Buzz M&G! Hey . .let's go eat at Crystal Palace right now (got in with a 5 minute wait despite no ADR) ..

I consider getting the 4th, 5th, 6th fast passes "winging it" it to a point.

But depends on your family. My family won't care if we don't go on ride X, Y, or Z .. as long as we are there . .we don't care what we do!

Maybe there's a difference between tickets as part of a package and separate tickets? I have an AP and can always see my 30 day window....

It's great that you were able to walk right into Crystal Palace ... But I wouldn't advise that people anticipate being able to do that. On the right day with the right crowd at the right time ... It's doable, but there will be many days where you'll be turned away or told that its a two hour wait.
