Fastpass and Single Rider Question

Hello, I'm going to Disneyland next Saturday for a real short 2 night 3 day trip.

I'm a 27 yr old male travelling solo and have been to WDW twice and DLP once.

WDW has started to enforce fastpass return times? Does DL do the same?

Also could someone explain the different fastpass rules? Am I right that if you get a FP at California Adventure, then you can go right over to Disneyland and get a FP there right away? And if you get a FP for Roger Rabbit, you can get any other FP right away?

Are there any rides in addition to Indiana Jones and Splash Mountain with single rider lines?

Also, how long and how much $ would a cab ride take from the Ramada on Harbor to the Orange County airport?

Fastpass return times, at Disneyland or DCA, are not being enforced at this time.

DLR has not started enforcing FP windows.

You are right that DCA and DL FPs are not connected to each other. And RR is not connected. And lately California Screamin is not connected.

By OC airport if you mean SNA a taxi will cost $40-45.

Since you're a single person I doubt you will even need to use the FP that often, they have single rider lines on the rides that get the biggest lines anyway and will usually let you right on pretty quickly. I only suggest that you get a FP for Tower of Terror, Space Mountain and Star Tours, those are three rides with large lines that do not offer the SR.

Always snag FPs while you're touring in case you need them in the evening. (& DLR does NOT enforce return times like the resort in the swamp.)

In addition to those mentioned, Screamin & Indy can be effective Single Rider rides when it's crowded. (& both are great non WDW rides).

Scroll through Hydroguy's tip threads (in his signature). First read his DLR for WDW veteran thread (an absolute primer & must read).....then read the FP threads......then all the rest.

Is the Single Rider line for Goofy's Sky School and Grizzly River Run a good idea? I know some of the SR lines at WDW are not good ideas.

I don't think I am going to use the other single rider lines.

For GRR definitely. Never used SR for GSS. The Indy and Splash SRs will be huge time savers. So will Screamin.

Soarin' is hit or miss with me as SR. Sometimes it goes along fine, on the ride in 10 minutes or so. Other times, I guess they didn't really need the SRs so it was 2 or more load cycles before I got on. If I had a FP, I know I am getting on the next load cycle. So, it is really up to you on how much patience you have.

I would grab a Soarin' FP first thing, then SR Screamin', do TSMM, SR GSS, and then make my way past Ariel's (which I would ride for sure), and go through Bug's Land (maybe hop on the Chew Chew Train for fun). I would find myself at TOT, grab a FP. Do Monsters, Animation Building and Crush, and then see which FP to use. Either go to Soarin' and backtrack to TOT, or hop on TOT with FP and go over to Soarin'.

Then I would SR Soarin' if I wanted to repeat, since I have already done it with FP, if I decide to bag it, no big deal.

ETA: forgot GRR! SR that when you are okay with being wet, maybe after Soarin'!

True except for Soarin as noted by others. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

Many folks think that FP means you go to the front of the line. What it means for Indy is you still have a 10 minutes (maybe 15) wait. Space Mtn is usually at least 10. Splash Mtn is usually closer to 5 minutes. Star Tours is 5-10. ToT is 15. Screamin in 5-10. GRR is 5 minutes or less. Autopia can be 20+ minutes.

Also, Disneyland is way better than Disneyworld (at least magic kingdom). Wow. Best theme park on earth. People always mention Space as much better, but even Haunted Mansion and Buzz Lightyear are much better at DL. MK really needs the Davy Crockett Canoes and the Storybookland cruise. Those are two great rides, and the former would cost little to implement

Thanks for the update! Never used SR on GSS, so good to know! And we are quite fond of our original park, thanks for being open-minded during your visit. It seems to make a big difference in people's opinions. Glad you had a good time!
