My DS13 is unable to transfer from his wheelchair for rides. So, he won't be riding many of the major headliners that need fastpass. I was thinking of using his fastpass options for character meet & greets. My husband or I would need to accompany him at the meet & greet, and I was wondering if we would need a fastpass for the meet & greet as well as my son. Thanks!

Are you going to DLR in California or WDW in Florida? The CA parks still use "old" paper FP that you pull at each attraction. WDW uses new FP+ that you can schedule in advance. Though the advice is probably the same for either location.

FP+ is only available for meet & greets in a defined indoor location -- essentially permanent -- as opposed to those just out on the street or such. Anyone who enters the building will need to have a FP+, even if you don't plan to interact with the character(s). So yes, you or your DH would need one to take DS to the meet & greet.

Enjoy your vacation!

Agree with lanejudy.
Anyone coming into the building would need a Fastpass
