Fastpass and EMH

I'm a few days out from being able to book fast passes and just wondering what the best strategy is. We'll be there during the first week in October and plan on attending all early morning EMH's. Should I try getting Fastpasses during the EMH or not bother and save the fastpasses for once the EMH's are over that day?
