Fastpass and Child Swap together???

We used FP and baby swap when we were down in June. It worked great for us.

Here's how we worked it at EPCOT. DH and his niece went for FP at M:S while I went for FP at Test Track. Dh traded is FP for a baby swap pass at M:S. He and his niece rode while I waited outside (actually took his card for a FP at Soarin). When they got off, Dniece and I took the baby swap card through the fastpass line to ride. We then went to test track. DH rode alone trading his FP for a baby swap pass, then Dniece and I rode with the baby swap pass. Same thing at Soarin!

It worked out great. I wish we would have figured it out while we were at Magic Kingdom. We used FastPasses, just not as efficiently.

We used FP and baby swap in May in this manner:

For baby swap alone: I went to CM and said DH and I wanted to baby swap. CM gave me baby swap ticket for DH who was waiting on a bench with DS sleeping in stroller. I waited in line, went into ride, came out and gave him ticket. CM had told me to tell him to come back to her to be let on to ride but then DH decided not to go on ride after all.

Baby swap with FP: DH and both got FPs for Soarin. During FP window DH entered ride. I waited outside with DS. Despite FP, DH didn't return until after FP window had passed, however CM said this didn't matter when I explained the situation and that we were baby swapping. I entered FP line and went on ride.

Another thing to keep in mind is that our Swap passes didn't expire that day. Sometimes we held them and used them later on in the trip if time was short.

Yes this is true for many but not all of the attractions so check them to be sure, they have an expiration date printed on the bottom. I know for sure that Soarin rider swap passes were only good for that day, others expired a day or more later.

This past July we used fastpass, baby swap at Rockin Roller Coaster. My DH & DS15 went thru fastpass & DH asked for baby swap pass for DS15. Then, when they were done, me & DS15 rode (I had a fastpass as well.) My understanding is that all have to have a fastpass then they'll give 1 person a babyswap pass to ride w/ other parent.

This will be our first time using fastpasses, last went in 1996 and didn't use them.

O.K to clarify this is what I thought we would do:

Get 4 fastpasses for 4 different rides
One parent goes through fastpass line
Then babyswap and then other adult goes on with 2 older children without having to use another fastpass ticket

That way we could do 4 rides back to back, and would only have to use up 1 fastpass each ride for all 4 of us.

Does this make sense??? Maybe I am too tired as well.

We do something similar, but we are two adults, one child and one toddler. When we went last year, my DH and I would get two different fast passes. My DS would just get one. I often got a fast pass he couldn't ride anyway. Then, my DH and my son would use their fast pass. We would do a baby swap and I would go on the next time with my son (so he gets to experience it twice.). We would also get two different fast passes right before our meals and/or before we had our mid day break. Then do it all over again.

Just remember when doing a fast pass ride and then baby swapping, it does take a while meaning you have to wait two fast pass trip times. I hope that makes sense. We take that extra time into consideration for lunch, snack, or taking the toddler on a baby ride. I also like to sneak into a gift shop to buy a gift without my older son knowing. We later like to surprise him or make it one of his Christmas gifts.

maxtomsmom- Thank you, I will definitely use this stratagy when we go. I am looking for any way to make the best use of our time.

It will probably be a couple years before we return.

How did your toddler do??

Sorry I haven't replied sooner. A sick 2yr old never leaves a dull moment. We're better but boy did he have a bizarre virus. Poor guy. To answer your question, my little one loved Disney. He loves to be out and about and loved all the action. When we were waiting for my other son and husband, he and I would go over to a place where there were a lot of children. He loved to watch them. There are several places you can take your child in MK while you are waiting. Near Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain, there is a mini play area with slides and places to crawl through. I would wait there with him and my DH would meet me there. Also, one tip I forgot to mention, was I would park the stroller and just let him walk around holding my hand. To get him to sit back down in the stroller, I always had a cookie on hand. Worked like a charm every time.

In case anyone was wondering how I would be getting 4 legal fastpasses, I would be using my husbands ticket at one ride, then mine at another, then one childs, then the other. (4 separate rides)and doing a baby swap at each one. HTH

Logistics aside, I don't see how this would work. Doesn't each rider need a fastpass for everyride? Other words, how can a party of 3 ride with only one fast pass unless it's the 2nd part of a baby swap?

maxtomsmom- so glad your little guy is feeling better. Also, thanks for the tips I will definitely give them a try when we go. My little girl does not like to sit still for a second.

jrmasm- That is what I meant. My husband would be using a fastpass, then when he went in he would let them know he needed to do a child swap. When he came out with the child swap pass I would take the 2 older children on with me. I don't think I would need a fastpass, but not really sure. I tis very confusing :confused3 I guess I will know one way or another when I try it :teeth:
