I'm flying into Miami tomorrow, renting a car, and then driving straight to Orlando. Toll roads and the likes are ok. Any suggestions? THANKS!

No. Do NOT take 95. PLEASE...take the turnpike all the way north, unless you like driving 85 in the slow lane. 95 is bad at the best of times, and I can't use strong enough words to explain how bad it is at the worst of times.

That would be my advice as well. The Fl Turnpike works very well and it won't give you grey hair....95 will.

are you saying 85 MILES PER HOUR in the SLOW lane?!
Is there no speed limit on this road?

No he's saying that because if you are driving 85 ... you better be in the slow lane because if not you will be run over. People drive on 95 like it's the autobahn, 100 mph is not uncommon to see!

Another vote for the Turnpike north right here!!! sure you have to pay some tolls BUT ... tolls = sanity in this case.

we have a Mustang Convertible booked from MIA to Orlando .. looks like its I-95 for me :drive:

Well, good luck with that. Traffic is gonna be a bear with that rain

I recently drove from Cape Canav' area to Key Largo and back

Down - I did 95 all the way to Miami and picked up the 'extension' on the north side of Miami to get to the Keys

On the way back, I stayed with the Turnpike until the Fort Pierce area where you need to commit - coast or center . . .

In My Experience, just recently, the turnpike drivers were WORSE than what I saw on 95

btw I lived in Miami on and off for 10 years between 1982 and 2000

I know that when I picked up 95 in Jupiter, from the Turnpike, it was one of the worst experiences in my life. Going through Palm Beach, 85 in the far right, 'slow' lane, bumper to bumper!!:scared1: My dad lives in Pompano Beach (between Ft Lauderdale and Palm Beach)....he tends to take 95. Me? I avoid it. We took the Turnpike as far as we could when heading to the Keys last month..it was almost pleasant.
I'm not sure why it is, but I have always found the turnpike to be less stressful than 95!!
