Fastest time to MK

I'm curious. Anyone get to MCO, rent a car, check into your room, drive to TTC, and into MK? What was your fastest time??

On a good day, that would take 1:45 to 2:30.

OK, I didn't go straight to MK on my arrival day, but here's how it realistically could have gone.

It took me 56 minutes from stepping off the plane to checking in at POFQ. The entire check-in process took me 15 minutes, including waiting behind 2 other parties. A 3 minute walk to my room. That's 74 minutes so far.

Now the speculation begins. Maybe 5 minutes in the room to use the bathroom and place commando gear on. Then a 4 minute walk to the bus stop. That's 83 minutes. Allowing a 10 minute wait for an MK bus, then a 10 minute ride, that's 103 minutes. Then another 5 minutes to walk to the gate and go through the turnstile.

Total of 108 minutes, one hour and 48 minutes, just inside Robo's best-case scenario.

The fastest way for us used to be getting our rental car and driving straight to the parks . We didn't care if we got a choice room. A couple of times we didn't check-in until the parks closed. Come to think of it we've never had a bad room either!
Since joining the boards,we've gone to the hotel first to get a better room. Huh,we're arriving Sunday and now I'm seriously contemplating going staight to the parks again.

I don't know about renting a car or driving, but I've gotten off the plane, gotten my own luggage, taken Magical Express for the bus service only, checked in (without a room assignment, so just leaving my bags with concierge) and been to the MGM gate in under 90 minutes before.

I agree. I have done this, too.

There's a real advantage in NOT renting a car but using DME... and certainly its NOT an advantage to DRIVE to/from the MK, in particular.
That's why I stated the length of time the way I did.

Thanks for the estimates. My flight gets in at 7pm the day after Christmas. MK is open until midnight. We are traveling "away" from WDW the next day. We have a room close to the airport booked and a rental car. Was hoping to get at least a couple hours of Disney in!

I forgot to mention that this 56 minute time was accomplished using Disney's Magical Express (DME).
