Fastest and cheapest way to transfer from ASMO to POLY?

Just let Disney transfer your luggage and you can go to a park and then go to your second resort.

If you are actuially taking the family directly from ASMo to Poly you can take the bus to Magic Kingdom, then take the monorail to Poly. If you have only a small amount of luggage you can even hand carry it. You will probably prefer to arrange at the checkout desk to have resort staff take the luggage over for you although it may be several hours later. I'd say the walk from the bus platforms to the monorail platforms at MK is about two typical city blocks. You can also do a bus to bus transfer at Animal Kingdom or MGM.

The bell staff at AsMo will take your luggage, as if you were checking out. I don't know exactly how they handle it there. They will arrange for your bags to get over to the Poly sometime that day (but it might take a while)

If you need small bag for the day, you could take it over to the poly yourself & have them hold it for you if your room isn't ready.

As for moving your family, I'd say AsM to MK to Poly is the easiest.

I'm sure you could ask the desk at the all stars when & how you need to arrange this. Lots of people have their stuff moved over to a different resort!

Yes, the moving the luggage is the easiest part. I actually had bell services move my luggage to a hotel I was having dinner at before leaving for the airport. Just telll bell services the hotel, and the luggage will arrive there mid-afternoon.

Since you won't get a room until 3pm, the best thing to do is take Disney transportation to tour for a few hours, and when you leave the park, or Downtown Disney, or whatever, take Poly transportation and then check-in. Your luggage should be waiting.
