Fast Passes they give you at the tour

How do these work?

I'm curious because I gave them to my niece and she said she didn't see much difference between getting a regular fast pass for yourself and these. My sister was upset that they went on the tour because of this. (I was the only one really interested in purchasing DVC. The fast passes were not the draw for me.) Anyway, I've noticed people talk positively about them, and wondered what my neice didn't understand about them.

Didn't do a tour. But my thought is - if you get a fastpass in the park, there are rules about how quickly you can get another one. And if you don't get to the park until the afternoon, all of the fastpasses for some rides may be gone.

So if they give you several fastpasses which you have in hand and can use when you want, you bypass those issues.

From what I've read, the tour giveaways are never huge. A nice bonus if you wanted to do the tour anyway, but not enough to make you want to do a tour if you have no interest in buying DVC.

The fastpasses when used will give you a instant return time, also you can get another fastpass with the same card right away.

I follow TGM touring plans and when we did the tour had many, many FPs in my pocket. I showed our Guide all my FPs and told her the FPs they would give me wouldn't be useful since I had my own. She gave us 2 or 3 (can't remember) $25 or $50 gift cards (I can't remember that eiher LOL). That was WAY more useful to us. We ended up purchasing resale and saving close to $10,000

The normal FP has a return time latter in the day. With the DVC FP, you walk right in immediately.

We got some fastpasses when we went on our tour. They were very useful for attractions that have later return times. We found it especially useful for a ride like Toy Story Mania, because even at around 11am, the return was about 5pm for regular fastpass. We inserted our cards from the tour and were given a return time of 11am
