Aren't using Fast Passes cheating? I always thought this because come on you have people waiting in line then you see these other people strolling by no problem and hop on the ride so isn't it like cheating by cutting in line in a way or no?

That is a bit ridiculous. first, thos ein the fast pass line are accounted for already by the system so are not cutting, but technically already accounted for ahead of those in the stand-by line. also, everyone has the chance to use it.

If I pull an FP for Space and ride BTMRR standby while I wait for the return time, maybe someone else pulled BTMRR and will then go to the standby line for Space, where they'll be when I use my FP. The circle of life.

Lol ;) :)

Not at all. It is available to every park guest equally, period.

Yes. It's also cheating to make dinner reservations and get to sit down before those waiting for a table, or use coupons to get a better price than the people ahead of you at the store. I hate those cheaters that get to go ahead of me on the plane just because they have little kids or have to use a wheelchair. Don't even get me started on the handicapped parking cheat.

Yeah, you said it sister! Lol ;)

I'm also a bit confused by this question... I can see how, to someone who didn't understand the fast pass system it might seem like those people were cutting the line, but you have 120 posts, so I don't think you are a disney newby... Maybe can you clarify a little more? Everyone has the same opportunity to use the fast pass system, just like how everyone can order their disney tickets in advance online, make online reservations to eat, book hotels on line instead of just showing up at the door and hoping for a room... Maybe I'm confused?

Perhaps the OP was being facetious. Lol

LOL!!! DH gripes about those needing handicapped spaces and I always tell him:

1. Do you really want the disability that goes along with a handicapped tag? I don't know about you, but I'll take good health over a close parking spot any day!
2. Take a look at your waist line! You need those extra steps! Now get moving! :rotfl2:

OP: Try and use the Fast Pass system. Actually getting Fast Passes, then leaving and coming back at a later time to ride might answer your question if it's in fact line jumping.

Exactly. You *could* have just ridden the ride at that point. That puts the wait time for the rest of the day one person longer, which affects the ride of the people behind you the exact same amount (or more) than if you get the FP and come back later.

Just not right! Those people in stand-by line only had to wait 60 minutes to ride, and we got a fast pass and had to wait 2 hours before we could come back! Nope, just not right.

OP, please don't be offended, I'm only kidding ;) of course it's not cheating.

It would only be cheating if they weren't available for everyone. However, as long as you get there on time and within the window in which they're being offered, then you can get and use one. It all depends on how you plan your day. If you're not flexible and cannot sacrifice some time later on in the day to return to a ride you know you want to go on, then don't use it. But it is most certainly not cheating considering Disneyland and DCA have been using the system for years and years.

Besides the fact that everyone has equal--and unlike Six Flags parks, free--access to Fastpass--those "other people strolling by no problem" might have been waiting for hours for their FP window to open up. It isn't as if pulling a Fastpass is a guarantee that you're going to get to immediately stroll right on. Fastpass evens out waiting times for everyone by giving you the choice of waiting in the standby queue or waiting somewhere else. But *everyone* is still waiting in some form.

Yep, always awaitin' fer something, that's for certain folks. Yep, step right up and hurry to wait, and wait for toieties, snacks, shows, meals, rides, parades, fireworks, shuttles and so on...... :faint:

:rotfl2: It has taken me the better part of 5 years to get the kids not to yell, "So long, suckers!" to the standby line for Indy because they heard me mutter it once.
