Fast Passes Cheating?

:rotfl2: It has taken me the better part of 5 years to get the kids not to yell, "So long, suckers!" to the standby line for Indy because they heard me mutter it once.

Lol. My DD10 has finally figured out the value of FP. I have to shush her from saying "FP rocks!..." (loudly) as we go through the FP line. I tell her it sounds like she is bragging like she got special treatment...we rarely do standby now on rides we can FP. The downside is that she now sees all wait times that are longer than 20 minutes as tooo looong! My commando style touring is rubbing off on her. My DH doesn't like to rush but has no problem taking a little break while I run across the park for a FP. ;-)

No, this is a Disney created system and each guest has equal access to (at DLR anyway)
The only people cheating are those who use old room keys or similar to pull extra FP's.

DS5 does this too. "We get to pass all these people because we have fast pass right? Why don't THEY get fast pass?" And any ride that doesn't have it and we have to wait makes him crazy!

Interesting question. At first I thought "is he kidding"? But then I thought about how RSR works and that in its case, it might be not as equal to everyone at first glance would be. In a way, the fast pass system for that attraction is similar to running as fast as you can as early as you can to even obtain one at times.
I have seen the fast pass system not work quite how they imagined when for example at the end of Fantasmic everyone runs to Indy at the same time. Factor in any previous ride breakdowns earlier (which happens often) and you end up in a 45 minute fast pass line rather than the typical 10-15 minutes. Then the stand-by line is much much longer than the wait time listed.

So in some instances it could be looked at as unequal, especially factoring in the ride break-down exceptions.

Personally I'm conflicted. I like the fastpass system, but many times the stand-by times are greatly different than the listed time due to the ending time of parades, etc and the fast pass returnees swarming.

In fact, some parks make it a fee and then you get VIP cheats across the board. Depending on the level you pay, some SeaWorld (they have QuickCue) or Universal have pay for Front of the Line passes. Some are included for staying on property, and some allow just once per ride and others allow the front of every ride.

Money talks. It is what it is. Fast Passes are ways to try and get control of the crowds so everyone doesn't all come at once. And Disney is investing by the MILLIONS or more in FPs reservations at Walt Disney World. They want people to book them months in advance.

Clearly the parks like to offer this 'cheat'.

Now do NOT get me started on the "excuse me, the rest of my party is WAAAAY up there, please let me through."

THEN WHY AREN'T YOU WITH THEM!!!! :furious:

This was a bigger issue when FP windows were not enforced but I do not see how it is an issue now.

In general, I am not sure Disney can make everything "equal". To wit...

- Some people live closer to DLR than others. So for those who live closer it gives them an advantage over those further away - especially if they only need to drive a few miles.

- Folks who show up 30 minutes before the park opens (i.e., rope drop) get on more rides than those who show up later.

- Some folks have mobility issues and must walk slowly. So they are at a disadvantage over those who can walk faster.

- Some folks just plain have more energy than others and can stay more hours in the parks each day. They have an advantage over others with lower energy levels and maybe need more sleep each night.

- Some folks are like me and have been going to DLR for almost 50 years since I was a very young child. I know the parks really well. So people like me have an advantage over first time visitors.

Put it altogether and find someone who lives close, shows up early, has lots of energy and mobility, and lots of park knowledge, and you have someone with a huge advantage over others with or without FP.

And the older we get, the more these three things happen at the same time. Twelve years ago, I could race up the ramp to the Space Mountain queue. Now, I try not to get knocked over by the teenagers. ;)

Now why didn't I think of that line?

I'm hoping for one day when it's an Impractical Joker busting through the line. "Larry! Larry! Is that you up there Larry!"

Good point about not all things being equal, like distance. Can I get the same pricing as FLR or APs for locals? No? WHY NOT?!!!!!!!!!!

Because I'm stuck in KY?

Yup. Shucks. That's a DOUBLE whammy.

While I"m at it, I'd like to order a FLR rate for Disney cruises too. :yay:

Not cheating at all. The person entering with a FP pulled it some time earlier. Basically they just stepped aside and let a lot of standby folks cut in line ahead of him.

I think the OP---- posted this to get a rise, and a Rise she/he got!;) She/he never returned.........

Waiting these days isn't as boring as the past due to the smartphone. As I walk through to the front of the line using FP, I notice most people aren't even paying attention cause they are glued to their phones. :lmao:

At Universal Studios Florida, I've ridden the Men in Black ride four times in a row and walked past the same people every time with a Hard Rock Hotel room key that gives my family Universal Express. I felt guilty maybe once because anyone can stay on property and do the same thing.

They aren't available for people trying to get them after they've run out... What about VIp tours?

LOL, how about getting there earlier like everyone else did? Is it cheating when someone buys something on sale, and others arrive later to find that item sold out?

As for VIP tours, did you try to schedule one and they turned you down?
