fast pass

I understand what you are saying. Honestly, I'm about as regular as they come. We are a hard working, probably lower middle class, family of 3. I save, save, save and pay on my vacations throughout the year. But, Universal also offers some great discounts. AAA, Supersaver, APH. You can get an on site resort for $149 a night if you look around. Of course, dates matter too. But $149 is VERY reasonable for what you get...deluxe accomodations, easy walk or boat ride from resort to parks, awesome pools, FOTL (the best perk IMHO).

Honestly, if they were to build a value resort, that would impact the usfulness of FOTL and would be unfair to anyone who pays a higher rate at the other resorts. Unless those staying at a value didn't receive the same perks, ie. FOTL.

We are the same way,we are not loaded with money and we save for every vaccation. The right time of year you can find the (by no means value)RPR at a great rate!!
Universal tried the Fast Pass system and it didnt last long. They were gone early enough were you were standing in a 60min line!!

You should look at the time of the year that you go before you do that. If you go at a busy time like this past week, then you would be better off staying at a Universal site than buying each individual in your party an express ticket that could only be used one time for each big ride; whereas, if you stay on site you can ride the big rides over and over and over....:woohoo:

The hotels at Disney don't even compare to Uni's. We've stayed at all 3 types of Disney--value, moderate and Deluxe. Loews goes the extra mile and really pampers their guests and you don't even realize that you are close to an amusement park. The atmosphere feels like you truly are in the Tropics (RPH) or Italy (PBH) and Hard Rock is just, plain cool. Don't even try to compare it to the old, run down Contemporary.

We noticed that because Universal was so crowded last weekthat a lot of people did buy the passes; very few were using room keys. The lines were longer than usual, but I'm so glad that we didn't have to wait 90 minutes for the Simpsons or the Hulk or Mummy or 60 for Dueling Dragons.

We thought about heading to Disney for a day because we had tickets, but a woman in line behind us said that they had been there the days before (Dec 25-30ish) and said that the Fast Passes were completely gone at all of the Disney rides even before 10 a.m. You don't have to worry about that at Universal the wait they do their Express.

We waited, but never more than 10 or 15 minutes.

We even got seated earlier at Mythos because it gives you preferred seating in restaurants--supposedly cuts your wait time in half.

And riding Dueling Dragons and Hulk and Mummy 5x each in a row is AWESOME.

A value resort would deffinatly ruin the whole USO expierance..Staying on-site during the mod too busy season more then pays for itself.
When you take the factor of driving there-parking fee-express passes, well do the math..You can stay on-site after all the extras you add on too your daily tick!!!!

If you're cheap like me.....then do single rider lines...they were great even during Christmas week. If you have small children....do the child swap.

We all said the next time we go, we're going to take one of those life-like babydolls so we can do the child-swap. Just kidding:lmao: :lmao:
