Fast pass window strategy

I have been entrusted to make the fast pass reservations for my group of 9 and the window opens on July 25. The window used to open at midnight but I have heard it was changed to 7 or 8AM Eastern time.

What time can I actually log on to start reserving fast passes?
I have heard Disney refreshes the system in the morning and some people who have logged on at midnight found more openings later on the same day. What is the best strategy?

As far as I know the booking window still opens at Midnight EST.

Honestly, you should not have much trouble booking anything at that time. Questionable attractions include Frozen: Ever After, the new Epcto Anna & Elsa M&G, Rivers of Light, and Night Time Safari (if that uses FP). I imagine everything else will be pretty available. 7DMT goes fast too, but if you don't do it right at midnight, there should still be availability, just maybe not the times you want.

It's eastern time, not eastern standard time. They're different.
