I swear many years back (4 or 5) while staying at POFQ
that we were able to use not only our park hopper as a fast pass but also our room key. I just remember having a fast pass for both Tower Of Terror & Rock N Roller Coaster at the same time-

We will be back at POFQ starting April 24th-
I'd love to know if this can still be done-

when fastpass was first being offered, this did work.... but now they updated the softwear so only park tickets that went through the turn-styles that day will work...

I think they put a stop to that as more and more people figured it out.

I like the trick of getting two passes at one time. One minute after the start of the window you are allowed to get a second pass. We'd do this, go on a non fast pass ride, use the first fast pass and then the second. We piggy backed fast passes like this all day. This only works if the park is not packed and fast passes are for an hour later, not several hours later.

I'm a little confused. Does each member of your party have to have a fast pass each time? Can one member use their ticket at one ride and another member at a different ride to "stack" ride times for the entire party? With four of us it would be a great idea.

Thanks:earsboy:

Lucky4Me -
Please explain this Fast Pass trick again...nice and slow for people like me...
Thanks!

I'll do my best to explain, hopefully I don't make things any worse.
Let's say you want to go on both Space Mountain and BTMRR. It's 11am. Both have a bit of a wait, as they often do. So you go to BTMRR, and get a fast pass to return at 12:15. This means that you can return there anytime between 12:15 and 1:15.
You have a little over an hour to kill, so you decide to go on Buzz Lightyear while you wait. When you finish with Buzz, it is 12:10. You can then walk over to Space Mountain and at 12:16 you can get a fast pass for that because for all the computer system knows, you already could have gone on BTMRR since it is after 12:15. This way, you have fast passes for two rides at once. You can run back over, go on BTMRR, and then return to Space Mountain with very little waiting to do.
Hopefully that explained that for you, because I may really confuse you now. As has been said, this only really works if the fast pass return times are not hours away. If you are there on a busy day, as I was recently, just check the bottom of the fast pass when you get it. It may be hours before you can use the one in your hand, but the time when you can get another one is marked on the FP. You can also have 2 fast passes at the same time this way if you do a little planning.
Again, I hope this helped more than it hurt!

You were Very Helpful!
I just copied/pasted your post into my "Random Notes" File for our Thanksgiving 2004 Trip!!

I owe you a postcard!

Thank You Again!

Ted

I managed to add a Avatar(Pix) but how do I add a "Motto or Quote" under the picture?

As u can tell I am a grumpy old duck!

Thanks!

You can add a signature to appear at the bottom of your messages, but to have a message underneath your avatar, you need to be visited by the tag fairy. I'm still waiting for mine, hopefully it happens one day soon. You'll just sign on one day and there will be a message there, usually something funny or something you typed incorrectly. Just keep posting and you (and me too) are bound to be visited by the fairy eventually

And have a great time on your trip, I don't know how busy it is around Thanksgiving time, but I don't believe it is too crazy, so you should have a wonderful time. And just remember, you need a fast pass for everyone, not just one, and just check them carefully when you get them because they'll tell you when you can get another one right on there. Enjoy, and say hi to Mickey for me!

Another tip... you can get a fastpass for one ride and then request a "rider switch pass/child swap" for a second ride. If you're traveling with young children it really saves time and it's sort of like having two fastpasses at once. :)

There is a DIS member who has a whole section of his homepage devoted to FastPass, with things like "cycle times" and other such stuff. I believe his handle was something like SeashoreCM and he's from New Hampshire.

Perhaps he will post here, cuz he's done a lot of work figuring all this out.

Also check the time the fast pass says you can get another one. We were there last month and we got a fast past for something and the wait was 2 hrs until we could go, but it said we could get another fast pass at 1:37 which was an hour and a half later, and not the 2 hour wait. We did just that and it worked fine. It happened a few times, so check the time on the fp to see if it's earlier than the time of ride or the 2 hrs. It was fairly crowded too as it was spring break.

According to the Disney representative I spoke with last week there really isn't a way to figure out fastpass because they are constantly changing it. He did say though that fast passes for rides like Haunted Mansion will allow you to get another fastpass quicker than a ride like Space Mountain. It also depends on what time of year, crowds, etc. The best advice he could give was to read your fastpass carefully because the interval of time will be different with each ride and park. Same goes for the rider switch pass, sometimes it says you can bring 2 people, other times it says you can bring 3.... this is also based on time of year and crowds.

Here is a tricky part.

Based on my experience, and confirmed by a prior reply here in this thread, how soon you can actually get another Fastpass depends on what ride it is for as well as how crowded the park is.

So if you get a Fastpass for one ride, say, a popular ride like Space Mountain, at 11 AM. Printed on that Fastpass is the time for the next Fastpass which as 1 PM. That is the worst case time and it would apply to really popular rides like Splash Mountain. You might be able to get a Fastpass for Jungle Cruise at 11:45 AM but that is not publicized and not known and not certain. I suggest that if the time you can get the next Fastpass is quite far away (it will never be more than about 2 hours) you just try for another Fastpass say one hour later.

Another tricky part.

I might get a Fastpass and on it is printed the time for yet another Fastpass 90 minutes later. The next person using the same machine gets his Fastpass and the time for his next Fastpass is sooner, say 60 minutes away. The reason is roughly this: the time shown on your second Fastpass for getting the third will not be earlier than the time shown on your first Fastpass for getting the second, even if the second matures sooner. Again you can try sooner and sometimes you will succeed.
