Fast Pass + this morning was basically ticketmaster

Made my FPs this morning. I set an alarm to make sure I woke up on time, had a spreadsheet, had both my computer open (cookies cleared) and my phone app. It glitched quite a bit and there was a whole day that said that all available FPs were gone for the entire day (!!), but I knew that had to be wrong. My AK day was 60+1, so I did that one first and scored FOP right away. Ended up with everything I wanted for 3 days for 2 people. I was finished by 7:15.

Can you imagine not being Type A?

I know...my boyfriend says it's "cute" how much I like to plan things.

I've tried doing Disney casual, but it literally causes anxiety for me. Now I can relax until it's time to go. :)

Today was FP booking day for me and I got so many Olafs that I might just punch him when I get there in August!

Got everything booked for the days I wanted for reasonable hours, but it was a frustrating experience.

And I have 4 more days to book with the rolling 60-day window over the next couple of weeks. The only big demand one left is Alien Swirling Saucers (what acronym is getting used for that, cos I just had to delete the one that I used there!), so hopefully I should be able to get that 60 days out.

I said the same thing about Olaf! Wondering if they are deliberately trying to make me hate one of their IP characters.

“AS2” will do the trick. :thumbsup2

It really feels like something strange is going on right now. There are a lot of people getting visits from Olaf and having a difficult time. More than usual it seems. I wonder if they made an update to the system on their end that didn't go well? Or if it's the combination of TSL and good neighbor hotels overwhelming the system at 60 days (it doesn't seem like as many people are having issues at 30 days).

Might be possible, but only for late times. 60+2 for us the earliest time was 4:45. However, I checked 30 minutes later and found a 12:10 but haven't seen anything that early again.

If you're wondering on dates, this was for 8/4. Earliest I see for FOP for 2 people as of now is 6:25pm.
Right, I don't mind it being late because we wouldn't even get to a park until at least 4pm. This would be for 2 people. Hm. Might as well give it a try. If not, I can choose a different park or just do non-pandora rides that evening

It's been 7 years since we were last at Disney; a lot of changes and overall for the better.

But it's a real shame the "hit and miss" nature of something so important. My goodness it's not like Disney is technically challenged.

So many suggestions that probably aren't really pertinent - like using iPhone vs Android, Chrome vs another browser, incognitio mode, clear cookies, punching Olaf in the face etc).

It's probably just "luck". As in, is the server overloaded or not?

We had a complex glitch for 2 people (long story I've mentioned in a couple threads - maybe here too). But we did manage to get FOP and Frozen and a few other semi-tough ones. So we were lucky I guess.

This whole 60 day advance FP should NOT rely on luck.

I'm 20 days way from my FP day and starting to get nervous because of the various reports of website issues. I've always been very lucky on my FP days with no major technical issues (knock on wood), but they would stress me out as well for sure. I always use only computer and I find that trying different browsers can sometimes do the trick. Right now, chrome and the Disney site are not working at all for me for booking ADRs and I imagine it may be the same for FP. I've been having lots of luck with Firefox though. My desk may look like command central with multiple computers logged into various browsers, but whatever it takes! :-)

In the end there is no reason to get nervous. Yes there was many issues I had to deal with but in the end I got everything I wanted. So in the end, you will get the same

:rotfl: Disney is severly technically challenged. Their IT systems are a joke. Your glitch really wasn't complex.

I did finish booking 12 days then I got locked out of my account. I called the tech line and was told that the system is having issues right now

I was trying to book splash in 8/4 and 8/11 for 9-10pm the park closes at 10 on those days but the latest available was 830. I found that strange. There were plenty of other times available

I suspect that may be by design to leave them the last 1/2 hour of operating time for standby only so that they aren't running too long after park close.

We just returned from our trip a week ago- we had MAJOR issues in the parks trying to get the app to work to make our 4th FP or adjust anything.
You could pull the app up and it would show zero available FP for the whole park, get out of it and get back in and have lots of choices, get out again and back in and have either nothing showing again or completely different choices. It was crazy. It showed no FP available more than it showed anything- we were constantly refreshing the app trying to get FP- while we ended up getting them it was very very frustrating. The most problems we’ve ever had out of the app. We even tried a kiosk twice and had the same issues.
It was a wonderful trip- but we were very frustrated with the app this time.

Progress just gives us more things that can go wrong. I still contend overall things are better - but that's easy for me to say since our trip is still about 6 weeks away.

It will be out first under this still somewhat new world of FP+ and MDE. It's kind of nice to see the reservations we have lined up already - but then there are the "What ifs" - what if the app doesn't work at all etc. None of that was an issue the last time (in 2011).

I'm trying to condition myself and others to not worry about procuring FP number 4 (and more) - at least this time. To me, frequently checking the app would take away from the wonder of experience WDW with 2 of my grandchildren for the first time. Add to that the app simply not being reliable- and I could see almost "manufactured" disappointment. And to me, that's almost worse than the "commando" style of touring we've managed to avoid every trip - and yet still come away feeling incredibly happy with what we experienced.

Six weeks from tomorrow - we are there! Despite the "new concerns", it's still Walt Disney World. And I have a "date" with my granddaughters for a picture in front of Partners - which will be my new phone background.

I hope you have a wonderful trip! Our trip was amazing and WDW is truly the happiest place on Earth. Hopefully some of the bugs will be fixed by your trip and you won’t have to bother with the app too much. We were there last summer and had zero issues at all- the app ran perfectly the entire week and we made FP with no issues and very quickly. Hopefully it will be that way for you this year. and I’m hoping it will be that way for us next year- lol. This year we finally put the phones down one day when we couldn’t get FP to work correctly- and just went with the lines. I didn’t want it to become a ‘downer’ for our trip.

I hope you have make wonderful memories with your grandchildren- there is nothing more magical than Disney with your family!
