So on my 60 day window in a few weeks should I use the app instead of the website?

I had issues with the dining reservations on the site when my window opened up and I agree it was very frustrating.

When I made my ADRs for August, I had issues with the App and had to use the website. The App was showing no availability for one place my entire stay (180+8), but the website showed plenty of availability. A couple days later, the App started only showing a rolling 180 day calendar, but the website showed the full 180+8. As a PP suggested, I would have both ready to go just in case.

Today is 30 days from TSL opening. You had all the soon to be disappointed offsite guests trying to score SDD FPs.

Ahhh that actually makes me feel better about how frustrating my morning was. Hopefully this was a one time fluke more than a pattern for my future FP booking.

FP+ at 60 day mark for 2 was no issue at all. Used iPhone. We secured everything's we wanted.

We chose to skip FoP FP+ and did rope drop (a.k.a. Arrived at turnstiles 7am for an 8am opening. We were on and off FoP by 8:52 then walked over and walked on River Journey.

So I had my selections for fast pass this morning.

I literally felt like a concert or sporting event went on sale, with the way it was crashing and always loading. It was basically like ticketmaster when tickets open up. It was extremely frustrating for the first 10 mins.

For a period of 10 -15 mins, it was basically impossible to get anything. When you could actually see the times, you couldn't get them confirmed. ( imagine my frustration when I am staring at the times for FOP and I couldn't just CONFIRM!! ) There were many times were it would give me the time I wanted, and then when I confirmed, it would destroy the page. I had to keep clicking back, start over, etc etc. I never let it stay and keep spinning. That was a waste of time.

Now for the phone app, I will never use it again for trying. It didn't load anything. I stuck with strictly computer.

After about 20 mins, you can use the app on the phone and the website to pretty much get your stuff. Once I actually got my FOP, 7 dwarfs, and Toy story mania, I calmed down, as I knew the rest of the stuff would most likely be available and it was. ( I did not get slinky dog, simply because I don't know how slow it is, and me not being a kid, it didn't highly appeal to me ) EDIT: Picked up slinky dog for another day, might as well try it lol

I ended up getting my FOP for around 2pm on 60+3. I didn't check the days before, but they were also available for 60+4+5+6. Pretty decent times

I want to try and get an earlier time though for it. Time will tell.

So in the end, I got everything I wanted. I just need to tweak some times around as we get closer. Last time was a much more smooth experience when I went a few years ago, but this is my first summer time.

I booked for 2 people.

My day is coming and I will be in a place with poor internet access via cellular phone and way overtaxed. Alternatively, I can alter some big vacation plans to be in a place with better access.

On my side is a 10+ stay with no parks for the first 2 so there is a 'safety' net for booking but still - have all ADRS and a plan in place for each day - some of which involve tickets/reservations (MNSSHP, Hoop Dee Doo, Kennedy Space Center and an umbrella rental at TL)

Computer was down an hour ion ADR day. Too much stress for a vacation and I love planning.

Oh boy, plan for a good long time on your phone. It seems like the better I get at FP booking, the longer it takes. It took me 40 minutes on my computer once I was able to get on just to book 4 people for 4 days. I am quite proud of my scheduling, though, and want to keep showing my wife, even though her response is just "that's nice, honey."

My fp+ day was yesterday. I was ready to cancel my trip I was so annoyed. I got nowhere for 15 minutes - not on the app or my pc. It was Olaf everywhere. It told me there were no fp for my dates available, then Olaf popped up, then nothing. Over and over.

I didn’t even want FoP or tsl, we aren’t doing either. Finally at around 7:20 everything popped up on the app, my pc was still Olaf-ing at that point.

Since I didn’t want the super headliners I got everything I wanted. FEA, 7DMT, etc. Once I scheduled everything, I looked for FoP on our AK day (60+1) and there was nothing. I was just curious, my DD won’t go on it, doesn’t even want to see the avatar area. So it’s a nonissue anyway.

But it was so frustrating!

Oh man, I know! I now have to look and see if I can push my Garden Grill back by 15 minutes in order to allow transit time from Spaceship Earth. I have no idea how people who are new to the process can handle it all. I have to envision walking time, time in lines, etc. Days like today are exhausting, but make the trip more enjoyable for planners like myself (at least I like to think so).

I feel pretty lucky, I logged on yesterday at exactly 7am. The only problem I had was because I had no idea how the screen works and the overlap of fast passes that you can't do. Once I figured that out it was basically a piece of cake as far as the web site. The user was the problem, I was changing stuff and forgetting what I had picked before (too smart to write stuff down, lol) so I kept leaving to go look at my itinerary. But except for FOP that wasn't available for Monday July 30, I didn't have any problems. Got what we wanted with a few that I'm sure we didn't need to fast pass but we'll adjust from what we have closer to the trip. I thought the system was much better than what they had when online fast pass booking first came along. I did not do dining reservations. We are staying POR and was very happy with the offerings at their food court the last two times we stayed there. We are not big sit down type eaters on vacation so we thought going back to POR for mid to late afternoon meals would give us a chance to cool off and freshen up for the evening.

Wait until your ADR's no longer match up with the park hours that were posted when you made them & don't fall in line with previously perfectly timed ADR to the new FP schedule. We gave up perfectly timed BOG dinner, Rose & Crown dinner, & ROL Tusker House after we got our FP's, now we have less than perfectly timed ADR's but will cancel them entirely if nothing better appears, committed to eating QS in exchange for the ride experience, nothing served at WDW that I can't eat elsewhere. *sigh* hopefully yours will go better.

Oh I meant technical difficulties. I couldn’t book for my length of stay, had the site and app time out many times, etc.

FP are always my top priority, so we don’t make a bunch of ADRs at the 180 window. I’ve been burned on park hours enough to learn my lesson lol.

I've never had a problem with the app or computer to book my fp's 60 days out, BUT, I usually forget it's my fp day and end up logging in late. Last year I booked at 1 pm eastern on a Saturday and got everything I wanted and this year I logged in at 8 am eastern also on a Saturday and got everything I wanted.

How about our family / friends who have no idea how much can go into planning this (so far in advance)?

And yes - ADRs before the FP window adds another limitation.

Same here today for the first 30 minutes after 7am FP booking window. Randon lock-ups. Too many users accessing the servers at once I imagine. It did make this trip longer to book than others. However, I must say that the system is very user friendly IMO when it's working normally.

iPhone MDE app has worked like a charm for me the past six mornings at 6AM CST. I was on my iPhone and iMac simultaneously each date. I was quickly booking FPs on my iPhone while the browser on my iMac hourglassed!

Just the opposite for me this morning. iPhone would show error messages while on the other hand I could refresh the website on my PC and get it to work.

Oh well, I'm sure it varies day to day.

I had the same issues on May 20th. I just don't think Disney's websites have the capacity that it needs for all Disney resorts plus all of the others that can book 60+ days out. Took me over a half hour to secure all of my fastpasses. I was just happy my day fell on a Sunday where I wasn't worried about rushing to work or anything.

I've read from other posters, some issues can be alleviated by using an incognito browser but I found that out only after my day opened up so idk how true that is
