:jumping1:So today marks 30 days so I can begin to book them...Is it worth to use your fast pass selection on the parades?

That's a personal decision. I think it's a huge waste of a fastpass, but many people disagree.

There are a lot of factors that go into that decision. I did get FoF, MSEP, and Wishes. We are going to be on a long trip, 9 days so we will have 3 full days at MK plus two evenings. I feel that we had a good selection of other FP and room to spare for them. We love the parades at MK. They are a must do for us. Whereas, Illuminations and Fastasmic, not as much. Upon reading, I determined that same day FP were sometimes available for those shows should we decide we want to see them, and my experience also is that they aren't entirely necessary anyway. With the MK parades, I wanted to do FoF our first day and we are checking in so I wasn't sure when we would get to the parks from my parents. So I figured the best thing to do was get the FP so we didn't waste time staking out a spot and could just hit the ground running. For MSEP, I didn't want to have an initial FP so late and ace out the chance of a 4th on our touring days so I decided that on our lazy day, where we aren't planning on the parks during the day, I would schedule it so we could eat dinner at Cape May and then head over specifically for that. Then I added the Wishes FP for that evening as well, because why not? We were only going over for the evening stuff.

So it depends entirely on you and your group. I wouldn't have given up other FP that we wanted for the parades but I had plenty of room for them.

If you are 30 days out, you are going at a less crowded time (I know that's relative these days) so I would think getting decent spots for parades shouldn't be too difficult unless you are very picky about where you want to be. I watch FoF from Frontierland and it is usually very easy to get a spot only a few minutes before go time. Also it's at the front of the route, so you see it almost immediately. For MSEP, I try to watch from Main Street if possible, or Liberty Square if it's too crowded there.

As a previous posted mentioned, I feel it is a personal choice. If the parades are your priority and it works for your touring plans and style, then I say yes, use your FP+ on parades or fireworks. Also, it does depend on the situation. If you are going during a low crowd time then you might not need it, but if it's a high crowd time and you don't want to wait an hour for a parade then by all means do it. For me, I have not used FP+ picks on parades and fireworks because we have other attractions that are top priority, but for my next trip I night change that....we have never seen Illuminations. The last few trips we have tried but for something always comes up and our plans end up changing and we just cant make it. So, for our next trip, I may use a FP+ for Illuminations so we can ensure that we will see it and see it in a good location and not have to line up at the railing an hour early. To others, that may seem like a waste, but for my family, that may be a priority, so in the end everyone is happy: my family is happy because we get to see Illuminations hassel free and others are happy because that makes one less family getting FP's for Soarin' or Test Track. Win Win :)

I don't recommend using a fastpass for Illuminations. The viewing area is not particularly good, it's very crowded, and you still need to get there early to get a decent spot. You're much better off finding a spot on your own (upwind from the lagoon) 30 to 45 minutes before the show starts.

Thanks! I am thinking we will probably go with using them on the rides. I am okay if I don't have front row seat to a parade or fireworks.

Good information to know. thanks
